19: The Final Battle: Day One

a/n: not to give anything away, but i've written death scenes once before. if there is ANYTHING i can do to make these things more impactful, please tell me. it'll be helpful for the rewrite (heeseo fans wya😔)

"so, it's been four hours, and i miss you like crazy already." hyein said. leeseo was in the hospital, recovering from a coma.

"please wake up." hyein teared up. "i just wanna give you a hug, but i don't know, my touch will burn you and it not sure if you feel pain when you're in a coma, it's just... it's a lot."

"excuse me? visiting hours are over. you can come again tomorrow morning." the nurse said.

"ah, right. thank you eunchae." hyein said to the nurse.

the nurse nodded and left.

"before i go... if you can hear me, i wanna say that... i miss you, and i'm in love with you, and please wake up soon." hyein confessed. "okay then. bye."

gaeul was standing right outside leeseo's hospital room, smirking at hyein.

"i heard that!" she teased.

"ugh, bother me about it tomorrow." hyein sighed. "i just realized that i was in love with her."

"oh fine, fine. i'll tease you tomorrow." gaeul said. "now, if you'll excuse me, the nurses allowed five minutes for a couple words with my sister, so..." gaeul stepped into the room.

"right. good night."

"good night hyein." gaeul said. "oh, and before i forget.

i think you'd be a great match for my sister. if you decide you want to do something about your feelings, you have my blessing."

gaeul smiled, and hyein felt a strange euphoria.

damn. minji was right. she did have it bad.

hyein sat in a chair just outside leeseo's room.

gaeul spent more than just five minutes in that room. she was talking to leeseo, crying a little bit, and hoping that her dear sister could hear her. no one would ever know what she said.

so hyein got up, and decided to go home.

"where are we?" moka asked, even though no one but herself could hear her.

"we're in the king kang warehouse. once upon a time, the superior spidergirl operated here. now, you five will too." the doctor said. "you are all my true masterpieces. the superior spinners."

none of the five spinners were in control of their own bodies. doc ock was walking, talking, and living as them. he walked them all over to a spot in the warehouse with a ton of spiderbots.

it seemed like they were working on something.

building something.

"the hell are we looking at?" minju asked.

"my new body." the doctor simply said.

"what was up with the spinners last night? i thought we were cool." hyein said.

the five spiders were back in hyein's living room.

"i don't know. i thought it had something to do with heejin's little switch thingy, but i don't think she ever did anything with it." haerin responded.

"no, i have amazing hearing, i definitely heard her click it." hanni said.

"then... what did it do?" minji asked.

"haerin said she saw the little metal chips on the spinners neck crackle." danielle said.

"what metal chips?" hanni asked.
