The loud banging at the door had woken Evanee up during her blissful nap. She was still dressed in her regular clothes, not bothering to change when she went to sleep. Her hair was a mess though. Still, she trudged downstairs and opened the front door, seeing the four people she had no interest in talking to again.
As Evan opened his mouth to say something, Evanee closed the door and walked to the kitchen to get a snack. She was awfully tired and needed to eat before she went back to sleep.
The front door opened once again and Evan's crew walked in uninvited.
"Rude," Evanee mumbled loud enough for them to hear.
"You're the one who closed the door on us," Jonathan wasn't annoyed by that though, he was distracted by the house and so was Tyler for a short while.
There was nothing satisfying in the cabinets or fridge, so Evanee left the four of them downstairs and walked to her room. She brushed her hair and grabbed her wallet, slipping her shoes on as she headed towards the door.
"Evanee!" David called out seeing her walk out the door. They closed it and followed behind her, unaware of their destination. David caught up and tapped her shoulder. "Where are we going?"
"In-N-Out."
That was a long walk from where they were now, though Evanee was a bit too tired to tell.
In a flash, the tired girl was lifted off her feet and over someone's shoulder. She would've complained but it would save the trouble of walking.
"Nice ass," Evanee said. She could feel the laugh shaking through the person carrying her.
"Thanks, I do squats every morning for these bad boys," She could instantly recognize David's voice.
Before she knew it, her ride was over and she was placed in Evan's car. Tyler and Evan were in the front seat, Evan being the driver. While in the backseat, David struggled to put his seatbelt on since he was sat in between Jonathan and Evanee.
"Where are we going exactly?"
"You said you wanted In-N-Out, right?" Tyler asked, looking back at her through the mirror. "Plus, this is my thank you gift for helping me out this morning."
Evan cleared his throat and started the car. "For helping both of us out actually."
Since they had offered and it was an act of kindness, Evanee went along with it and sat quietly in the backseat.
"Hey Evanee," Jonathan whispered. She leaned forward to see him past David. "Did you know that David is a sore loser?"
"Doesn't everybody? I'm pretty sure he wears diapers while he's gaming so he doesn't shit his pants whenever he gets scared," she whispered back.
As everyone laughed, David looked like he was rotting in hell, sitting between the two who were talking about him.
"Ha ha. So funny you fucking bloody wankers," David muttered, crossing his arms and pouting his lips.
"You're so cute." She snuggled into David's side. "We're sorry."
Evanee loved jokes, but when there was a slight possibility she had actually hurt someone's feelings, she apologized right away.
Everyone else looked at the two. Evanee didn't notice their stares and patted David's head, but David was blushing to the point where he looked like a tomato.
"Look we're here," David shouted, pointing to the classic American fast food restaurant. He wanted to get out of the car as fast as possible in fear that one of his friends were going to say something about him and Evanee.
The five of them got out and found a booth.
"So what do you guys want?"
Each of them said what they wanted and at the end all of them pitched in some money. They settled who was going to go up and order through a series of rock, paper, scissors. In the end, Jonathan lost and went to order.
The booth that they sat in was two person per seat usually. Evanee was quick to call the seat with one more person, since she didn't want to squish in with two more people.
"I'm sitting next to her cause you guys are assholes,"David said, sitting down next to her.
"Not even. I met her first," Evan argued.
The two of them continued to argue, so Evanee took that as a chance to get up and help Jonathan get the food. Even though she thought David the kindest, Jonathan was a bit more calm.
"Mind if I sit by you?" Evanee asked, holding a tray and a drink in her hands.
Jonathan smiled. "Not at all."
When they sat down, Tyler had joined their argument and they didn't notcie that the food had arrived or that Evanee took a seat next to Jonathan.
"Wait a second," Evan stopped their useless talking and stared at Evanee and Jonathan. "What the hell, man?"
Jonathan laughed devilishly and it all sent them laughing. The rest of the three slid down into the other side of the booth. Since they were a bit late on eating, Evanee and Jonathan had already finished their burgers. They were attempting to throw bits of fries into the other person's mouth, which Jonathan was completely dominating at.
"I'm pronouncing you, Jonathan, as my new best friend," Evanee took a fry and touched both of his shoulders with it, like they did in the movies.
"I'm honoured," Jonathan laughed yet again.
Like her aunt had said, Evanee didn't have much friends, let alone a best friend. It was satisfying to say the least to finally say she had one and to be happy she did. It didn't seem like much, but she was happy.
"Are you two five year olds?" Evan asked and stared at the immature seventeen year olds.
Evanee scoffed. "Excuse you. I'm six." She held up seven fingers. "And Jon is four."
"She's the best," Tyler said through his laughs, wheezing.
Its only been two days and everything went by so fast. She was accepted and liked by the most popular group at school and had experienced some of the funniest moments in her life. With every second, her life got more exciting.
