🥾 AXTON 🥾

It had been about an hour and I'd been standing outside waiting for my girls for ten minutes. I glanced at my watch and saw only a few seconds had passed.

"I guess you don't trust Rosalinda with the girls anymore?"

"I'm just waiting for our girls, Garr."

"No, you're out here 'cause she's a couple minutes late an' opportunistic to fire her, Ax."

"I did give 'er an hour..."

"You did, for the visit to her tia's, but they went for ice-cream. Also you saw I requested a few tubs of ice-cream. Hence you can't use it as a reason to fire her."

"Fine."

"That's it?"

"You're right. I can't fire her this time."

"Well that was relatively painless. I figured we'd be arguing till she pulled in."

"No point, there home," I nodded as I watched Rosalinda's car slowly roll down the driveway.

As she parked and opened her door she eyed me with a perplexed look. I broke eye contact and headed to the van to intercept my girls.

"DADDDDY!"

"PAPA-BEAAAAR!"

"HIII, did ya miss us?" Garr asked while I remained silent but grinned so they wouldn't suspect anything was wrong.

"Yeah, until ICE-CREEEAM."

"What? You love ice-cream more than us?" Garr teased as he tickled a wiggling Reese as we walked to the door.

"Nooo, we love you both the same."

"You're both here," Lisa raised her hands close together and Garr roared with laughter.

As I opened the door, Garr reached out and placed his hand on top of mine.

"Should we help Ros-."

"She's got it. See?" I jerked my thumb and didn't turn to see if he glanced back at her direction.

"Punishing instead of firin' her, I see."

"No, the bags aren't heavy for her to need assistance, Garr."

"Well you never were the type to kill your enemies with kindness."

"I'd rather kill you with my kindness, like tonight for example," I whispered before nipping his ear.

"Ax not in front of the girls!" He squirmed away, but winked at me before he entered the girl's room.

I chuckled to myself and followed him and Reese into the bathroom to clean them up. The sugar kicked in and had the girls wiggling and dodging our attempts.

"Come on, stay still for me," Garr gently coaxed as he slowly stalked Lisa.

All while I barely manged keep a hold on wriggling and kicking Reese. An accidental kick to groin had me release her and hunching over.

"Oh shiiit, babe are you okay?" I heard Garr say but I was blinded by the pain to comment.

"Reese, say sorry to daddy," he gently instructed and I saw her tentatively walk over to me.
