After a shower and dressing I joined everyone for breakfast in the kitchen. I grabbed food from the buffet and went to sit beside Davian, but he moved, opening a seat beside Mavros. I looked down at Davian, he winked at me and lowered his head. I blushed before sitting down between both guys and avoided glancing at Mav.

"Morning," I was startled by his raspy voice and jerked my face to his.

"Morning."

"How'd you sleep?"

"Pretty well, probably 'cause you cracked me open. Did you and How's your ankle?"

"I slept okay, and so's my ankle."

"Did you take anymore meds?"

"I didn't think to."

"I gue-."

"Ver, do you have any plans today?"

"I planned to check with J.P. if he's found any jobs for me. Then talk to Davian about a tattoo. Do you need me for anything, Rev."

"I'd like you to go on a ride with the trio and I."

"I-."

"Rev, is somethin' burnin'?" Jesse interrupted after sniffing the air.

"Oh no, did I leave the stove on?" Rev toppled her chair fleeing from the table.

"Nothing's burnin'. What are you up to Jesse?" Mav turned to and I leaned closer in curiosity.

"The quad wants to go on a ride with Verity."

"So?"

"Remember when Tyara brought Quin- her ex to meet your folks?"

"Vaguely."

"Rev invited him to go on a ride with her and the quad."

"Yes."

"Then he was..." Jesse gave Mavros a pointed look and coughed as Rev sat down.

I saw Mavros's face change from confusion to understanding, to mischievous. I eyed Jesse who sighed then to Davian who was busy shoveling food in.

"I checked, but I didn't forget to turn off the stove this time. Thanks Jesse for the reminder."

"You're welcome," Jesse spoke without looking her in the eyes, proving he didn't like lying.

"Like I was saying, the quad and I want t-."

"Sorry ma, but a friend asked to meet her this afternoon."

"Okay, well we'll do it another day. How bout tomorrow, Verity?" Rev gave me a big hopeful smile, that made me think this 'ride' meant something.
