I took my helmet off as I discounted from my bike. I placed my helmet under my arm and stepped beside Rev.
"Looks like words out about our drive."
"They're not thinkin' what I think they are, are they?"
"Sorry darlin," but the patchies believe you're Mav's old lady."
"Wh-. C-can't we tell them it's a misunderstanding?"
You know of the only way to void the tittle," Rev grimmly smiled as she patted my shoulder before walking over to Mavros.
I stared after her figure until I saw her and Mavros crook their fingers. I gulped, and as I stepped under the sky, everyone started cheering. Once I reached them, Mavros leaned near my ear.
"Go to my office."
I nodded my head and handed my helmet to Dav before heading inside. I went to his office, and as I turned towards the door, my eyes locked on the trio.
"Daddy sent you guys to his office too?"
"No, we're here of our own free will." Dav answered but all three of them scrunched up their noses at me.
I snickered and followed them inside and sat between Dav and Jesse.
"Was Mav behind you?"
"Nah, he was still talkin' to Rev and our mas when we followed you." Rad answered as his thumbs moved over his phone.
"This gonna be a shit show, huh?" I mumbled to myself.
"What'd you say, Ver?" Jess turned to me with a glance of concern.
"Just... It's one shit show after the next. I can't seem to get away from trouble."
"Don't think that way, Ver. I'm sure today's issue is purely coincidental."
"Did Mavros say how long he'd be?"
"Nah, he said he'd come as soon as he put out the fire and to wait here for him."
"Alright," I sighed and closed my eyes as I rested my head against the couch.
"Hey Ver, you ever played Clash of Clans?" Dav roughly shook my shoulder as if I were asleep.
"Never played."
"Come on you jack-ass's let's get a game going."
"Alright."
"Nothin' better to do."
I wasn't in the mood to play, but I didn't have the heart to with Dav trying to cheer me up. I made myself smile brightly and held it for ten seconds before downloading the game.
"Alright I'm ready."
"K, uh we'll explain while we play."
"You'd better take it easy on me."
"We won't let you die-."
"The first round at least," Dav finished Rad's sentence.
"I'll be on your team to guide you," Jess switched seats with Rad and gave me a thumbs-up.
For fifteen twenty minutes our respective teams took turns winning and losing. After crushing the second game, the four of glanced up from our phones.
"He's takin' his sweet time," Rad commented as he cracked his knuckles.
"Yeah, well there's more patchies than him," Jess argued back.
"Another round?" Dav nervously grinned as his pupils danced side to side at his bros.
"Sure, why don't we switch teams," I agreed as I sat next to Dav.
"Fine."
"Fine."
Rad and Jess eyed each other before lowering their heads to their phones. Dav and I exchanged winks and grins before we followed suit.
Thirty or so minutes passed by and we opted to take a break to stretch. Afterwards we followed Dav's example and raided Mav's mini fridge.
"So this where all the energy drinks went."
"He took all the Reese cups too. Sorry for accusin' you Dav."
"I forgive you, Rad."
"Who knew Mav is such a hoarder," I chuckled as I grabbed a tea and string cheese.
"Have you seen his room?" Jess asked as he opened a can.
"No, he's never invited me inside."
"Probably cause he hasn't finished cleaning it," Dav mentioned as he leaned against Mav's desk.
"Figures. He wants to give Ver a good impression."
"Hey, since Mav's still not here why don't we show her his room?" Dav grinned mischievously.
"Doesn't he keep his door locked?" Jess raided a brow.
"Doesn't matter when you've got a lock picking set." Rad's eyebrows danced before he lead the way to the door.
With nothing better to do the three of us followed without complaint. Outside the office we could here the muffled outdoor voices as we snuck to the stairway. We quickly flew up the stairs and down the hallways to Mav's room.
"You guys wait here, while I go get my picks," Rad pointed to Mav's door and quickly disappeared.
"Are you sure Mav won't get mad if he finds us in here?" I asked as my eyes flitted around the corner.
"He will at us, but not you."
"He likes you too much, not to mention you'll be leaving in a day. So there's no way he'd waste his last moments with you bein' mad at you." Jess gave me a grin that gave me assurance and my heart flutter for Mavros.
"I-
"K, I'm back," Rad announced and we parted for him to squat at the door.
We crowded together to watch Rad stick two picks in the lock and wiggle them. It took under a minute before we the lock clicked and Rad open the door. He entered first and the rest of us followed in single file, with me at the rear.
"You were right, Dav."
"Just look at this place."
"It's not as bad as it usually is, though."
I stepped around Rad, and took an eye-full of the mc prez's room. There were exactly three different piles a few feet apart. One had clothes, I'm assuming clean ones. The second was knick-knacks from his teen years. While the third consisted of books and comics.
"I can't believe this is his room. His office is so organized and clean." I turned my head to stare at the trio.
"Well, his office is technically a public space that anyone can enter."
"Plus my ma secretly cleans it after he goes to bed."
"That's so nice of her," I grinned as I stepped towards Mav's messy bed.
"Like we told ya, we share our mas."
"That's so swe-."
"Didn't I tell you to wait in my office?"
The four of us froze and turned in unison. Mav was standing in the doorway He holding a dad stare with arms crossed.
"Shiiiit." The four of us chorused as we ducked our heads.
