💣 MAVROS 💣

It'd been at least a few hours since I'd gone to bed, but couldn't fully fall asleep. Giving up, I flipped over and grabbed my phone. The time read 3:45 a.m. I sighed and carefully got out of bed. I grabbed the crutch my medic Jace gave me and hobbled downstairs. I detoured to the kitchen to grab a water before heading out back. I sat on the porch swing in the shadows, and hydrated. I leaned back, contemplating on the day and few moments with Verity. She was partly to blame for my insomnia, that and the sprain. I heard from J.P. that he'd set a pb* *points bulletin* to alert him of jobs tailored to Ver. Incase it doesn't pan out, I'll give some of my pals a call tomorrow. As I compiled a list I heard footsteps and leaned forward to see who it was. The figure was female with long hair in an oversized shirt and unlaced boots.

Verity...

I chuckled to myself and watched her slip her shoes off before putting her feet in the pool. As I was about to say something she kicked at the water and giggled. Once her laughter stopped I moved out of the shadows so she'd see me.

"Can't sleep either?"

Verity jolted as she turned around and fell into the pool.

"Fuck, I'm sorry." I whisper shouted as I hobbled to the lockers to grab her a towel.

When I turned she was standing and dripping on the deck, arms wrapped around herself.

"Here," I guiltily smiled as I held the towel out to her.

"Thanks."

I grinned and turned around as I figured she probably wasn't going to wrap a dry towel over wet clothes.

"You can turn around now."

I turned she was wrapped in the towel and sitting back on the deck with her feet in the pool. I chuckled and clumsily maneuvered my ass next to her.

"Sorry for startling you."

"It's okay. What are you doing out here?"

"This sprain is keeping me up. What about you?"

"I-I had a dream and I fell out of bed. I tried going to sleep, but couldn't so I came out here."

"Do you want to talk about it? I can't promise I can tell you what it means, but I can try."

"NO!"

"Okay. Uhh..."

"I'm sorry, that was, I don't-. Let me start over. My chaotic life is just keeping me up, and I can't complain to my best friend."

"I'm sorry. It's not much, but it's all I got."

"Thanks, I don't get a lot of apologies, especially from hot guys."
