The sterile, cold walls of the Mumbai police station seemed even more daunting to a small, frightened child like Roohi. The faint hum of fluorescent lights buzzed overhead, a stark contrast to the soft lullabies her mother used to sing. Roohi sat on a hard bench, her tiny body shaking with fear and cold. Tears streamed down her cheeks as she sobbed uncontrollably, her cries echoing through the otherwise quiet room.

A policewoman, her heart breaking at the sight of the terrified little girl, knelt beside her, gently rubbing her back in an attempt to soothe her. "Shh, it's okay, sweetheart," she whispered, though she knew her words could offer little comfort. "Everything will be alright. We're here to help you."

But Roohi's world had already shattered. "I want my mummy," she whimpered between sobs, clutching the blanket they had given her. The policewoman bit her lip, her own eyes filling with tears. How could she explain to this innocent child that her mother would never be coming back?

Across the room, an inspector sat behind a desk, reviewing the details of the tragic accident. He leaned forward, his brows furrowing in concern as he tried to get some information from the little girl. "Roohi, do you know your father's name?" he asked gently, hoping to find some way to reach the family she might have.

Roohi lifted her tear-streaked face, her large, brown eyes filled with confusion. "Papa?" she repeated, her voice barely above a whisper. The word felt foreign on her tongue. She had never known a father, only her mother, who had been her entire world. She shook her head, clutching the blanket tighter. "I don't know Papa... I only know Mummy."

The inspector exchanged a worried glance with the policewoman. They were dealing with a child who had no idea of the life that awaited her. Just then, a constable entered the room, holding a medical report in his hand. He approached the inspector, his face pale and anxious.

"Sir, we received the medical report," the constable said quietly, handing over the paper. The inspector took it, his eyes scanning the document. His expression changed immediately, his usual composure slipping as he read the name listed under "Father."

Rudraksh Oberoi.

The inspector's grip on the report tightened. This was not a name to be taken lightly. In all his years of service, he had heard of Rudraksh Oberoi-a man who was as powerful as he was feared. If the report was accurate, this child was the daughter of a man who ruled both the business world and the underworld with an iron fist.

The policewoman noticed the change in the inspector's demeanor and quickly turned her attention back to Roohi, who was still shivering. She knelt in front of the little girl, her voice as soft as possible. "Roohi, your mummy... she's with God now, sweetheart," she said, trying to prepare her for the harsh reality.

But Roohi's tear-filled eyes widened in disbelief. "No!" she cried, shaking her head violently. "Mummy promised me! She promised she'd always be with me!"

The policewoman's heart ached. How do you explain such a cruel twist of fate to a child so young? "I know, darling, I know," she said, holding Roohi's trembling hand. "But sometimes, people have to go to be with God, even when they don't want to. But you're not alone, Roohi. We're going to find your father, and he'll take care of you."

Roohi's sobs quieted a little, but she still looked unconvinced, as if waiting for her mother to walk through the door and take her home. The inspector stood up, the report still in his hand, his mind racing. He knew he needed to make a call-one that would set in motion a series of events none of them could foresee.

In that moment, Roohi's life, which had been filled with love and warmth, was about to be turned upside down. The man she had never known, a man of immense power and terrifying reputation, was now the only family she had left. But as the inspector prepared to contact Rudraksh Oberoi, he couldn't help but wonder: What would a man like him do with a little girl who had just lost everything?
