As Arjun and Mia descended the stairs, their hands intertwined in a gesture of newfound comfort and support, they were greeted by the sight of the children gathered around, laughing and chatting animatedly.
The warmth of the scene was a stark contrast to the gravity of the discussions they had earlier. As Abhay watched Arjun teasing the kids and Mia smiling warmly at the scene, he couldn’t help but notice the growing connection between Arjun and Mia. The comfort and ease they shared were evident.
He had no objection to Arjun pursuing a relationship with Mia but also recognized the importance of focusing on Mia’s recovery and future. Let's not forget they are still young adults.
Abhay turned to Karan, his expression serious yet thoughtful. “Karan, you mentioned your sister Kiara and her husband Vishu are interested in fostering Mia.
Akshat chimed in, “Kiara lives in Winchester, right?”
Karan affirmed, “Yes, they do. Vishu’s parents and siblings are also there, so they built their house in Winchester. They run their own family business, although Vishu’s career path is quite different from theirs. Despite that, they maintain close family bonds.”
Karan continues, they are currently here because my mother wasn’t feeling well. Vishnu mentioned that they’re planning to foster a child and will be moving to Winchester permanently soon.”
The adults nod listening to Karan when while, Mia’s anxiety was evident. She looked at Karan and asked hesitantly, “Do they know about me?”Arjun, sensing Mia’s unease, gave her hand a gentle squeeze.Karan nodded reassuringly. “Yes, they do. They’re aware of your past and are eager to support you. You’ll be in good hands with them.” Kiara and Vishnu both are lawyers and have been involved in advocating for girls’ rights and have a strong commitment to supporting children in need. They also have two daughters around your age, Siya, who is 18 and about to start college, and Janvi, who is 15 who is studying in Winchester High school which is about 15 minutes away from their house.
Vishu's parents and siblings live in Winchester for a very long time, so they have a strong support system.” His parents are also very famous around Winchester and his older brother,Vishal have chains of restaurants and CEO of their company and his youngest sibling is doctor. Everyone in the family is well educated and very optimistic.
Abhay’s gaze softened slightly. “I’m glad to hear that. It’s important for Mia to have a supportive and caring environment as she starts this new chapter.”
Arjun chimed in, a hint of concern in his voice. “Winchester is about 62 miles away from here. That’s quite a distance.”
Abhay turned to his son, his expression firm yet understanding. “The final decision will be hers, Arjun. If she doesn’t have a problem with the distance, then we should respect her choice.”
Mia looked around the room, feeling the weight of everyone’s eyes on her. “I just hope I don’t cause too much trouble for you all or them,” she said softly, her voice tinged with uncertainty.
Abhay smiled warmly at her, his voice gentle. “You’re not trouble to anyone, Mia. We just want what’s best for you and your future.”
Arjun, however, wasn’t ready to let the topic go. “But can’t we arrange something here, in London? She could stay close, and we could keep an eye on things. Shouldn't we consider all the options?”
Abhay shot a glance at his son, his expression a mix of patience and firmness. He was about to reply when Rudraksh, who had been quietly observing the tension between father and son, interjected. “Arjun,” he said calmly, “It’s not just about finding a place for her to stay. It’s about finding the right environment where she can thrive. Sometimes, that means considering places that aren’t right next door.”
