Chapter Six: The Greeting of the Olympic Torch

July 26th, 2012 - Clarence House

Today is the day Madison will be joining Christian, William, Kate, and Harry for the passing of the Olympic Torch at Buckingham Palace as it makes its way through London.

It would be a lie to say that Madison wasn't nervous for today, because she was. Today will be the first time the world will see her since her engagement to Christian was announced back in April.

Madison was in the process of getting ready; today she will be matching with Kate, wearing a white Adidas polos shirt that represents Team GB with the Union Flag on the right sleeve, a pair of light blue jeans from Zara, and black heels.

Madison continues getting ready until she's interrupted by a gentle knock on the door. "How's it going in here?" Kate says this while walking into the room.

Madison smiles at her best friend and future sister-in-law, "It's going good, I'm almost ready." Madison states.

"How are you feeling about today?" Kate asked, sitting down in the armchair that's in the room.

"Uh, I would be lying if I said I wasn't nervous because I am." Madison admits, her stomach is filled with nerves.

"It's okay to be nervous, Mads. This is a huge change for you, going from being a normal girl living a normal life to now being watched by people around the world and the media is a lot. Trust me I would know." Kate reassures her friend and future sister-in-law.

Kate could understand better than anyone what Madison is currently going through. They both had very similar experiences when it came to their relationships with the two older princes.

They both had each other to lean on when things got a little hard. And that was never going to change. Madison and Kate would always be there for one another no matter what.

"If you told me ten years ago that we would be here today, about to witness the passing of the Olympic torch I would have laughed right in your face." Madison stated, and let out a chuckle.

"It's definitely crazy." Kate says, "Well I'll let you finish getting ready and I'll see you soon." Kate says, before getting up from the armchair and making her way over to Madison to give her a hug.

After Kate left the room Madison finished getting ready making sure that her outfit was straightened out nicely, and not crinkled. Just then the door opens and in walks her fiancé.

"Hello, beautiful. It feels like I haven't seen you all morning." Christian says, walking over to Madison giving her a gentle kiss on her lips.

"Love, you were in the room twenty minutes ago." Madison said, embracing Christian in a hug.

"Okay... And twenty minutes is two long to be away from you." Christian stated.

"Okay Chris, whatever you say." Madison laughs. "Anyway, how is everything going? Is it almost time to head to the gate?" Madison asks.

Christian nods, "Yeah, I just came to come and get you. We're all making our way out there soonish."

"Okay then, let's go." Madison says, as she and Christian made their way out of the room to go and join William, Kate, and Harry before making their way to the gates of the palace.

"How are you feeling?" Christian asks. Worried that his fiancée might be feeling a little nervous.

"As much as I am nervous, this is very exciting and an amazing opportunity." Madison responds. Even though she is nervous and has butterflies all in her stomach she is excited that she gets to witness this amazing moment.
