Chapter Eight: Big Changes to Come

THEIR ROYAL HIGHNESSES THE DUKE AND DUCHESS OF
CAMBRIDGE ARE EXPECTING THEIR FIRST CHILD

         Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Cambridge is expecting a baby.

The Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh, the Prince of Wales the Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Christian, Prince Harry and members of both families are delighted with the news.

The Duchess of Cambridge was admitted this afternoon to King Edward VII Hospital in Central London with Hyperemesis Gravidarum. As the pregnancy is in its very early stages, Her Royal Highness is expected to stay in hospital for  several days and will require a period of rest thereafter.

Holding a bouquet of roses and a basket full of Kate's favorite things, Madison makes her way down the hall to Kate's hospital room where she will be staying  for the next few days.

The news of Kate's pregnancy had just been announced earlier this morning. The news had been announced earlier than expected due to Kate now having to be in the hospital due to her suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum.

The Cambridges had been visiting Kate's parents, Michael and Carole Middleton in their hometown that weekend and that's when started to experience her acute morning sickness.

Once they realized that something wasn't right and with the advice from the doctors they rushed her back to London where Kate was then admitted into hospital.

She was only barely 12 weeks pregnant when the announcement was made, family members of both sides had quickly been informed just before the news was announced all around the world.

People around the world were delighted by the news that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were expecting their first child together.

Madison finally reached Kate's hospital room before gently knocking on the door. Once she was given the signal to enter the room she carefully opened the door, trying not to drop the gift basket and flowers in her hand.

It was just her visiting today as Christian had a busy schedule today, and was on a royal engagement for the day. So Madison found this to be a great opportunity to come and visit Kate.

"Hi, how are you feeling?" Madison asks, walking over Kate's bed, placing the gift basket and flowers down next to her.

"I feel somewhat okay for now." Kate said, sheepishly smiling. "Thank you for visiting me, you didn't have too." Kate said, as she looked through the gift basket that Madison made.

"You're silly to think that I wouldn't come and keep my best friend company for a few hours." Madison said, as she pulled up a chair next to Kate's bed.

There was a lot for William and Kate to start considering now that their baby will be third in line after their grandfather and father.

Their future children would push Christian and Harry down a place in the succession.

Now that the couple were expecting their first child they had to start considering where the couple will raise their baby and their future children to come.

"Christian told me that you and Wills have decided on an apartment," Madison said.

There had been plans for the apartment to be renovated for the Cambridge family. With this move into the apartment the Cambridges would now be moving out of their residence of Nottingham Cottage which now makes their Kensington Palace apartment their main London residence.

"Yes we finally managed to decide on the apartment. We are hoping that the renovations will be done soon so that we can move in before the baby arrives." Kate said with a smile on her face.

Even though she was feeling very sick at the moment, she was looking forward to having her baby in her arms in a few months.

"How's the wedding planning going?" Catherine asked.

"Wedding planning is going well. We decided on the venue and our wedding date." Madison said with a smile on her face.

"Ooh exciting." Catherine said with a smile. "So where have you decided to have the wedding and what date have you both picked."

"We have decided to get married in Westminster Abbey and we have decided to get married on September 15th of next year." Madison said, a smile forming across her face.

Anytime the wedding was brought up to Madison she couldn't help but smile. At times she wished time would just fly by so she could marry the love of her life.

"Why did you guys pick September 15?" Catherine asked, as she was interested in why they chose that date.

"Well we chose the date because next year is eleven years we've been together, and we chose September because I'm hoping that you'll be well enough and that you are willing to be my maid-of-honor." Madison said.

She had been planning to ask Kate to be her maid-of-honor for a while.

Madison wanted no one else by her side but Kate. She had been there for Madison through the highs and lows of Madison's life especially during the hard times of Madison and Christian's relationship.

Kate stared at Madison, her mouth slightly open from the shock of her question. "You want me to be your maid-of-honor? Mads, are you serious?" Kate said.

Madison nods, "Of course I want you to be my maid-of-honor Kate. I wouldn't want anyone else by my side but you." Madison said, tears starting to form in her eyes as she's now starting to get emotional, thinking about her friendship with Catherine. "Now, only if you will be feeling up for it. The wedding is in September of next year and If my calculations are correct you would've given birth two months before the wedding."

"Of course I will be your maid-of-honor Mads. I'm honored you chose me." Kate said, now starting to feel emotional herself. The news of Madison asking her to be her maid-of-honors, her pregnancy just being announced, and feeling super sick would make Catherine feel so many different emotions.

Madison spent the rest of the day with Catherine, keeping her company at the hospital until William was able to come back to the hospital to be with his wife.
