Brother's Time

Daciana was caught off guard by Kyle's words. She wasn't used to hearing anything nice or genuine from him. She felt a strange feeling in her chest, almost like a pang of guilt. She knew that she had treated Kyle badly. She looked at him for a moment before walking away without saying anything else. Plus she was too stubborn to admit it anyway.

Kyle smiled, "I mean it, I hope you find someone great, Dace."

Daciana's steps slowed for a moment as she heard Kyle's words. She wanted to say something back, but she couldn't find the right words. Instead, she just continued walking away, feeling a strange mix of emotions. She wasn't used to being so conflicted, and it was making her uncomfortable.

Back home Kyle and Seth were brushing their teeth, "Anyway it was pretty great, Miyah is so beautiful, kind, caring, oh man I never felt like this before, yeah I did with Daciana but it's reciprocated."

Seth spit on the sink, "That's awesome, you going to see her again? You have to now, she's so worth making you feel this way."

Kyle chuckled, "I think I will. But taking it slow, I don't want to risk messing it up."

The two continued talking while Dash got out of the shower, Seth handed him the towel and continued talking, "You won't mess it up. Bet she's the one that makes you go crazy for her. And you said she has two dads? That's even better! You two have that in common, which is pretty amazing."

Dash chuckled, "Yeah, it's pretty cool that she has two dads. I wonder what they're like. Maybe they'll be cool with us."

Kyle smiled, "I hope so. I want to make a good impression on them. And who knows, maybe they'll like me as much as I like Miyah. Excited to see her again, but until then, it's still new, hey Dash, don't you think I forget about tomorrow, you've been pestering me to take you out tomorrow for some beignets and some brotherly time, remember you wanted that."

Dash with his childish grin, "More with the beignets."

Seth laughed, "Oh yeah, I remember now. You've been nagging Kyle about it for weeks."

Kyle chuckled, "Yeah, I haven't forgotten. I promised I'd take you out for some beignets and a little brotherly time, didn't I?"

Dash tried to act cool and cocky, but was excited, due to him having to grow up so fast due to being in the system and held captive by Leonel, Dash has slowly started to act like a child, able to be carefree and having fun, Dash hurried off to his room.

Seth was curious, "I know very little but that Leonel guy must have done a number on Dash."

Kyle nodded, "He sure did. But now with Dash living here, he's able to live safely and have a good life. He's almost 13 and we're making sure he won't know any abuse. And tomorrow would be a good day."

The next day Kyle took Dash out for some brotherly time, with Hugo came into their lives, Seth moving in, everyone did their best to spend time with Dash. Kyle made sure to really give Dash the best day ever.

The New Orleans mall with them entering inside an arcade in which Dash went all out, playing all the games, Kyle cheered on and even he played on some of the games.

Dash was having the time of his life at the arcade. He bounced from game to game, his eyes lighting up with excitement. He was determined to win every prize and score the highest score on every game.

Kyle couldn't help but smile as he watched Dash play. He was so happy to see him having fun and being carefree. He even joined in on some of the games, trying to keep up with Dash's enthusiasm.

After hours of fun, and embarrassing Dash a few times, the two headed to the food court, Dash immediately started eating, enjoying the burger and fries, Kyle chuckled, started eating as well when he spotted some two 12 year old girls giggling and watching Dash, they ran off and noticed Dash didn't noticed and focused on eating and taking out a comic book that Kyle bought.
