It didn't bother Livana to hear the girls fighting upstairs, she just continued sipping her tea and knitting, it was quite the opposite in a way. Almost comforting as much as she loves the girls, love that their together and their relationship has been nothing but full of smiles and joy and amazing, Livana waited for one of the two argue. A disagreement, something so the two can experience that side of being in a relationship, knowing no relationship is perfect, they would eventually cross that bridge and it happened.
She glanced up to the two coming downstairs, arguing, "I can't believe you! We agreed!"
"Yes I know but I didn't mean on purpose to piss you off!"
"It seems like you did! I can't believe you!"
"I didn't mean it to just blurt it out! I thought she knew, Luna!"
Livana sighed, "Alright, enough. Sit down you two."
Luna annoyingly groaned, "I don't want to..."
Livana's wolf came out, her eyes glowing brightly, "Now!"
The two jumped by the sudden voice changed and immediately went to the kitchen to sit, Livana took a deep breath, "That's enough now, Saturn." Saturn, Livana's wolf, spoke in a very mature and elegance to it, ("Do make sure they listen and not interrupt you, my dear. Especially our Luna, the pup needs some lessons.") "Now, before we begin, I'm not on anyone's side, so keep that in mind. You understand Luna?"
"Yes ma'am."
"Good. Now, drink the tea, it's an order! Take deep breaths, and calm yourselves. Now first let me just clear the air, I didn't know about this engagement you two made, so don't be blaming anyone. Luna, don't blame Accalia. Secondly, Accalia, I was talking about how glad I am that you two are experiencing your first fight after months of being together. Something that should've happened sooner, and why? Because it'll help you girls grow as partners. A relationship should be for you two. Don't get me wrong, I love how happy you two are with each other and it's just incredible. I love that, that's a beautiful relationship, however, relationships will have arguments and disagreements, it was bound to happen. And I don't know what your first fight was about but I'm assuming keeping this engagement a secret from me for how long? Well? I hope it was for a short time so you two could be engaged and loving the special moment between you two because I can understand that. It is just nice and beautiful, however, I hope as hell it wasn't for much longer than a few months."
Luna glanced up, "No, it wouldn't be a few months, only for... For..."
Accalia sighed, "For a while."
Luna shaked her head, "No, no don't take the blame, it was only for a week, I didn't really have a time or date to tell you, I was just... Just winging it as much as I could maybe." Livana sighed, "Either way, I was bound to know it since I know everything and nothing comes past me. I'm a mother, I know everything. Now, I let you two argue about an hour or two maybe to get it out, because you two will have more fights and arguments and disagreements coming your way, no matter how much you hope it won't happen but it will. Just you wait. Look, I'm happy you two are engaged, excited for my girl to get married to someone who makes you happy. But marriage is a huge step and you two been together for months, which means, and I really don't want to be overbearing mother or mother-in-law, Accalia but I'm saying is, you're not marrying anytime soon until you two are mature and ready for it."
Naturally the girls were surprised and disappointed, talking all at once, Livana silence them! "Enough! Accalia I know you're older but honey, not now. And you, Luna. You're always been so outspoken about everything and I love that I made you that way yet you've always been so immature, now, it won't be forever, it's just until you two grow as a couple. Get through some disagreements and resolve them, and I did say to sleep in separate rooms but it's fine, however you will if you ever need a break from each other. Don't try and interrupt Luna! You two can continue sleeping in the same room or not, Accalia, use your own room whenever you two have a fight and need time to cool off before saying things you two will surely regret. I understand it's a huge moment for you two but I'm glad you two had your first argument, now, resolve them. Now. Be grown women and fix it as couples should be. Again, I'm not on anyone's side, go ahead and talk."
Luna sighed, "I'm sorry for overreacting, it's just, I really wanted us to keep this news from her for a bit longer, it wasn't supposed to be a long time. Just enough to really... Really let it set in that I really did it. Proposing to you."
"It hasn't set in? You planned it and you said it."
"Because it's hard for me to really believe I finally propose and you say yes and I guess, the idea of marriage, I don't know. Scares the hell out of me. It looks incredible and nice to have a partner by your side but the same time, there's some cons to it." Slightly glancing over to Livana, Livana sighed, "Did I ruin your idea of marriage, Luna?" There was a hint of hurt in her voice but kept it under control, Luna sighed, "No, maybe. I remember you and dad sometimes fight. Argue a lot."
"I won't lie, it wasn't always easy, but I love your father very much. We did argue but that's just us. I remember how we would argue in the first few weeks of our relationship, it's what I miss most about him. Although I couldn't stand whenever he would smoke thinking I didn't see or smell it, damn I hated when he did that but I love him. Luna honey, no marriage like a relationship is not great. Don't let it change your perspective on a healthy relationship or marriage. You and Accalia will have your own thing to argue about."
"I'm sorry, I do want to finally feel it setting in, the emotions, I do love you and finally found the special person I really want to spend my whole life with."
Accalia warmly smiled, "I do too. And I really want us to communicate our feelings and argue and fight and have disagreements like Livana said. It'll make it real, and I do want to wait to get married now. So we can continue to grow and learn more about each other. For you to let me in with what you're feeling without relying on the bond of our marks. And I really thought Livana knew that we're engaged by what she was referring to, how she was happy we finally did it, it was about time. I really thought you were talking about us being engaged."
Letting out a huge laugh, Livana smiles, "Oh sweetie, well I am happy for your engagement. But yes I was referring to your first fight, but guess I made you sweat thinking that. Really I am happy for you two for your engagement, although I am serious about what I said, you two will wait to get married. Continued with your talk and resolution." Getting up to fix their plates, while the two continued talking and apologizing, and getting their disagreements and of course it wouldn't be for nothing.
Livana continued to knit and hearing them talking it through as adults, making sure not to middle in, Saturn made sure of that, speaking to her to let the girls handle it.
("Let them handle it, my dear. Continue with your tea and knit. Don't let them disturb you unless you really need to.") Nodded and continued to relax. After an hour or two, the two sat closer, hands intertwining, soft kisses and whispering and agreeing to share what the other is feeling more and more. Even waiting a bit longer to get married, agreeing to have a longer engagement until they're both ready to set the date and finally married. To be wives and together for life or death. Being more in love with each other and growing closer as a couple. However knowing they have to continue work through their issues to really know they can work through it.
And with Livana there to be the mediator and help them whenever they felt they need her.
Days went by and the two still have some work to do but they're learning, while in bed, under the covers, just staring at each other, Accalia softly smiled, "So I told Macy about it, she was ecstatic about it. Let it slip you wanted her blessing to marry me, that's very cute and touching."
"She's important to you and wanted her to know and get her blessing. Tell me, when you think it'll happen, our wedding? I don't mind waiting to be honest, so we could plan it and think of ways to do it."
"Thinking of ways to envision our wedding, good thing we're waiting for it because there's no way we're marrying real soon. It takes time and money, babe. While we wait, we'll work on ourselves. I want us to be good, and learn how to deal with different emotions and disagreements and how to resolve them. And yes I will be sleeping in the other room whenever we have an argument, needing time apart would be good. Whatever happens, we can work through it. Alright?"
"Yeah. Agreed. Alot of work but we got it. Hopefully."
Accalia chuckled, "We will. Until then, let's enjoy things as they are. Our longer engagement and we can wait to share it with other people, until then, our families know and us, and we wait to share it with other people."
"Definitely." Luna snuggled close and laid her head on accalia's chest, her arms around her, enjoying their heartbeats softly and gently beating, the soft thumping, the slow breathing and slowly falling asleep in each other's arms, relaxed and content.
