VESTA' s POV
The morning breeze rustled against my curtains, allowing a sliver of sunlight to spill into the room. My eyes fluttered open slowly, adjusting to the sudden glow.
For a moment, I simply lay there, staring at the ceiling.
I turned my head slightly, my gaze landing on my packed bags and suitcases.
I exhaled deeply, pushing back the covers and sitting up. My body still felt sluggish from the lack of sleep.
Of course, I barely slept. How could I, when my mind had been running wild with thoughts.
I stretched my arms over my head, letting out a yawn before glancing at the clock on my bedside table.
7:12 AM.
I had plenty of time before I needed to start getting ready, but I knew the house would already be full of noise and chaos.
Time to face it.
I made my way out of my room, my bare feet padding softly against the wooden floor as I headed downstairs. As soon as I reached the bottom of the stairs, I was met with a scene that made me chuckle.
My friends were all gathered in the living room, their voices overlapping as they talked over one another. Anna, Vernon, Elisa, and Enzo, all seated around the coffee table, papers and notebooks sprawled out in front of them like they were in the middle of some intense business meeting.
Meanwhile, my Dad sat with them, his glasses perched low on his nose as he scanned a document, occasionally nodding as if approving their plans.
And my Mom? She stood in the middle of the room, arms crossed, shaking her head at whatever argument was happening between Vernon and Elisa.
"Okay, let's just settle this now." Vernon said, throwing his hands in the air. "The flower arrangements do not need to be changed. They were finalized weeks ago!"
Elisa groaned. "But I'm telling you, cream roses will look better with the venue lighting than white. It's a night wedding. God damn."
Vernon gave her a deadpan stare. "No one will notice the difference, Elisa."
"I will notice." she shot back, crossing her arms.
Anna, who was lounging on the couch with a croissant in hand, waved them off lazily. "Guys, guys. The bride is here. Maybe let her have a say in her own wedding?"
At her words, all heads turned toward me.
"Good morning," I greeted, amused.
"Morning, Ves. " Enzo waved.
I couldn't help but smile. "What exactly is happening here?"
My Mom chuckled , shaking her head. "They arrived early and immediately started making 'final adjustments' to the wedding plans. Your father got pulled in when Vernon asked him about table arrangements."
I glanced at my dad, who merely shrugged as he continued looking over the papers in front of him.
"You agreed to these arrangements months ago." I reminded them, moving to sit beside Anna.
"Yeah, well, we had some new ideas." Elisa said, flipping through her notes.
I chuckled, shaking my head. "It's a little late for that, don't you think?"
"Not if we work fast." she muttered, focused on whatever plan she was coming up with.
I glanced at my mom, who had an exasperated look on her face, and laughed softly. This kind of chaotic energy has become normal over the last few months.
