Aurora sat by the edge of the Black Lake, her back resting against the trunk of an old oak tree. The cool breeze carried the scent of autumn leaves, and the lake's surface shimmered under the midday sun. It was a rare moment of peace, a chance to escape the suffocating atmosphere of the Slytherin common room. With the sounds of nature surrounding her, she opened a book she had borrowed from the library, its pages filled with advanced spells that she was eager to master. Her fingers traced the diagrams of wand movements, and she was so absorbed in the text that she didn't notice the group approaching her.
"Aurora," a familiar drawling voice broke the tranquility, "what are you doing out here all alone?"
Aurora's heart sank as she looked up to see Draco Malfoy standing over her, a smirk on his pale face. Beside him were Pansy Parkinson, Daphne Greengrass, Millicent Bulstrode, and Theodore Nott. Draco dropped down beside her, draping an arm around her shoulders as if they were old friends. The closeness made her skin crawl, but she forced herself to remain calm, her expression neutral.
"I'm studying," she replied coolly, resisting the urge to shrug off his arm.
Draco's smirk widened as he glanced at the book in her lap. "Studying? How very... studious of you."
Pansy, standing a few feet away, rolled her eyes before snatching the book from Aurora's hands. "Studying spells, are we? How precious."
"Give it back," Aurora demanded, her voice low and dangerous. But before she could move, Daphne and Millicent grabbed her arms, holding her in place. Their grips were rough, and Aurora could feel her anger rising, but she kept her expression composed.
"Not so fast, Black," Pansy taunted, flipping through the pages of the book with a mocking grin. "It's time we had a little revenge for that stunt you pulled in the common room."
Aurora's heart raced, but she forced herself to stay calm. "You'll regret this," she warned, her voice icy. "You know who I am. You know what my family is capable of."
Pansy's grin faltered for a brief moment before she turned to Theodore, who was watching the scene with a detached expression. "What do you think we should do with her, Theo? Since she's so keen on throwing curses around, maybe we should show her a thing or two."
Theodore shrugged, his gaze cool as he regarded Aurora. "Whatever you think will teach her a lesson."
"Why don't we just throw her in the lake?" Daphne suggested with a malicious smile. "She could use a bath."
Millicent's grip tightened on Aurora's arm as she nodded in agreement. "Yeah, let's see how she likes being dunked in cold water."
Pansy chuckled, the sound sharp and cruel. "Perfect. A little swim might do her some good."
Aurora's heart pounded in her chest as the group began to push her towards the water. She struggled against Daphne and Millicent's hold, but they were stronger than she had anticipated. The lake's edge was only a few feet away now, the dark water lapping ominously against the shore. Panic surged through her, but she refused to let them see it.
