I wasn't capable of leaving my room for a couple of days, and when I finally managed to, I couldn't enjoy the beauty the new room had given me. All I could think about was Darius.
He was the only person who didn't want to murder me, as far as I know. And now that he is gone, it hurts even more that I was supposed to be against him this whole time. I was supposed to befriend him without actually meaning what I said, I was supposed to make him believe all the lies he was caught up in, and in the end, it worked.
Everything Her Majesty has planned worked out perfectly, him jumping off that bridge was the main point of her plan. Who knows what's next for us?
I do.
Irene, the Empress of the Empire of Wealth isn't supposed to be here. Illegal trespassing. Dead. Head off.
Dimitry's family name is a burden in the Kingdom of Peace, he can't be here either. Dead. Head off.
Eira can simply be killed. Children don't have rights here. Dead. Stabbed in the heart.
Her Majesty must be planning something against me, too. Dead. Head off.
The Queen knows Aria well enough to see that she'd suffer fatal depression if anything were to happen to me. Dead. Off the bridge, just like Darius.
We're all dead. Maybe our lives and our freedom were all lit on fire indeed. All were turned to ash and ruins, and the plan was complete.
I was in a second living room, with two of its walls being windows, revealing the beautiful scenery I couldn't enjoy outside. The dark sky was filled with tiny little white stars, the leafless trees were covered in magnificent white snow, including the ground. Yet I still couldn't just look at it and take the beauty in without being devastated. Instead, I kept thinking about "our lives and freedom being lit on fire".
When I was thinking about it, I slightly felt that I couldn't breathe, like the clean air was infected with something toxic. Smoke.
There wasn't a fireplace in the room, it seemed like it was too hot for a freezing winter. Flames.
Of course I didn't believe my intuition for a bit, but I went out of the room, and everything was just...Like I had pictured before.
I just stood, looking at the fire, making my plan.
The stairs creaked a little, Aria came running down them. She looked startled, so startled that she immediately ran towards me, keeping her distance.
My plan was done. And she was the first step of it.
I tightly gripped her hand behind her back, preparing to introduce my plan to her.
Half of downstairs was overtaken by the rising flames, it was only a matter of time before the fire got to the door and the lights went out. I had to hurry. She had to hurry.
-Okay, you're going to run as fast as you can to the door. Hold your breath, the smoke could poison you–
-B-but I can't. Everything is on fire–
She coughed, putting her free hand over her eyes to hide her crying.
The flames were already inches away from the door, me and my life was getting frustrated.
I grabbed her other hand as well, trying to stop coughing.
-It's not. If you run while holding your breath, you can kick the door open, and if you can kick it open, you can run through the garden. It's probably on fire too, but it's not that long. If you get out, run to my or your house to get some blankets. It's cold outside -I instructed. -I'll stay here and look for Eira, the others can get themselves out.
