Chapter #68

Scarlett’s POV
“Louri, you should play a song on your guitar.” Chris says. “That actually sounds like a fun idea. Any requests?” Louri says. “Oh do you know Lover by Taylor Swift? Greg and I dance to it all the time.” Grace says. “I do. Greg, get ready to dance with your wife.” Louri says and goes to get her guitar.
“We could leave the Christmas lights up 'til January. And this is our place, we make the rules. And there's a dazzling haze, a mysterious way about you dear. Have I known you 20 seconds or 20 years? Can I go where you go? Can we always be this close forever and ever? And ah, take me out, and take me home. You're my, my, my, my. Lover.”
Greg and Grace just sway around the room holding each other close as they dance to the song.
“We could let our friends crash in the living room. This is our place, we make the call. And I'm highly suspicious that everyone who sees you wants you. I've loved you three summers now, honey, but I want 'em all. Can I go where you go? Can we always be this close forever and ever? And ah, take me out, and take me home (forever and ever). You're my, my, my, my. Lover.” I decided to join Louri in singing the song so we just sing together as the couple dance together with big smiles on their faces.
“Ladies and gentlemen, will you please stand? With every guitar string scar on my hand. I take this magnetic force of a man to be my lover. My heart's been borrowed and yours has been blue. All's well that ends well to end up with you. Swear to be overdramatic and true to my lover. And you'll save all your dirtiest jokes for me. And at every table, I'll save you a seat, lover. Can I go where you go? Can we always be this close forever and ever? And ah, take me out, and take me home (forever and ever). You're my, my, my, my. Oh, you're my, my, my, my. Darling, you're my, my, my, my. Lover.” We sang together with my eyes on Louri the whole time. Chris claps for us and Louri just laughs at him. “You are really talented.” Grace complements Louri. “Scarlett is great, I agree.” Louri says. “Babe she was complimenting you.” I tell her. “Oh well um thanks I guess.” Louri says shyly scratching the back of her neck. She’s never been good at taking compliments. It took till we were married for TWO years for her to fully accept compliments from me. “You know it took me two years of marriage to get her to accept a compliment from me.” I say. “Yeah that sounds like Louri. She sucks at being the center of attention.” Chris says. “I’m just gonna.” Louri throws a blanket over her head before whispering to me. “They can’t see me now right?” I laugh at her childness. “No babe you are invisible.” I laugh. “AGH CHRIS!!” Louri groans when he playfully sits on her. “Scarlett, did you hear that? It sounded like Louri.” Everyone is laughing at the pair now. “Chris you know I’m here you ass.” Louri says pushing him off her blanket getting pushed off as she does. “Oh my god it’s Louri!” Chris says, pretending to be shocked. “I hate you.” She grumbles. “No you don’t.” He says. “No I don’t even when you are being a dumbass.” She says. “Scarlett, Louri is being mean to me.” He whines. “I don’t know why you think I’m siding with you there Chris.” I say.
