a crazy chaotic morning

The sun streams through the kitchen window as I stand in the midst of chaos—Mia's giggles blend with the high-pitched shrieks of Charlie and Chandler. I glance at little Luke, who's cradled in one arm, a bundle of joy who just happens to have impeccable timing with his diaper changes.

"Okay, guys! Let's focus here!" I call out, half-laughing and half-pleading. "Diaper change for Luke, snack time for the crazies, and then we can start the day!"

"Mommy! Look at me!" Mia twirls, nearly knocking over the play kitchen set.

"Careful, Mia!" I say, as I set Luke down on the changing table. "Alrighty, buddy, let's deal with this situation—"

Before I can finish the sentence, Luke confidently spits up all over my shirt.

"Ugh! Really?" I sigh, trying to wipe it off with a nearby burp cloth. "Why do you insist on adding to my laundry pile?"

"Because he loves you, Mommy!" Mia giggles, looking proud of her little brother's antics.

"Thanks, sweetheart." I roll my eyes, and try to catch a glimpse of the twins, who are trying to climb onto the couch simultaneously. "Charlie! Chandler! Get down!"

"But we want to see the bird!" Chandler exclaims, pointing out of the window.

"Mia, can you help me keep an eye on the twins?" I ask, knowing full well that asking a four-year-old for help can be an adventure in itself.

"Sure!" she says, excitedly jumping in to hold the steps of the couch, managing to get overly dramatic about it.

"Okay, snacks it is," I mumble to myself, getting up to grab some fruit pouches. "Who wants apple or banana?"

"Apple!" they all scream back, and I can't help but laugh. How did I end up with such a noisy bunch?

Just as I manage to hand out the snacks and retrieve a bottle for Luke, the front door swings open, and in walks Adrien.

"Hey, everyone!" he greets, drooping with tiredness but still looking like a model even in his off-hours. "How's my brood doing?"

"Mama's losing it, that's how!" I laugh, rolling my eyes.

"You're doing great, Y/n," he assures me, planting a kiss on my cheek before heading for the fridge. "Wow, it smells like something's already cooking!"

"Just started on dinner, but I wouldn't call it gourmet with this madness," I respond, trying to stifle a laugh. "And Luke just blessed my shirt."

"Fashion statement?" he quips, grinning. "You'll rock it!"

"Oh, please." I'm about to retort when I catch him watching me with an intensity that sends butterflies fluttering in my stomach. "Aren't you tired? You had a long day."

"Nah. Just need some energy," Adrien says, leaning against the counter, his golden hair catching the light. "What's a little chaos? I love chaos."

"Declaration of love?" Mia giggles, her apple pouch making a loud slurp.

"Exactly!" Adrien exclaims, stepping closer to me. "Mommy looks tired; she needs a hug!"

"Don't you dare! The kids are watching!" I giggle, winking at Mia.

"Kids, avert your eyes!" Adrien proclaims dramatically, stepping closer to me and leaning down, whispering, "But how can I resist?"

"Seriously, Adrien, this is not the time. They're—"

"—not paying attention!" he interrupts, lightly brushing a strand of hair behind my ear.

"Stop it!" I whisper-laugh. "You, sir, are a distraction."

"Best kind of distraction," he quips, leaning in for a soft kiss.

"Awww! I want kisses!" Chandler cries, but it only adds to the moment.

"See?" Adrien stands back, arms crossed with a mischievous sparkle in his eyes. "The kids approve."

"What are we, a sitcom?" I laugh, shaking my head as I break away from the moment. "Can we save the romance for when I'm not wearing baby spit?"

"Does spit make you more attractive?" he teases back, throwing out charm like it's confetti.

"I'm pretty sure that's a no," I smile, attempting to refocus. "But dinner won't cook itself, right?"

"Need an assistant?" he asks, already rolling up his sleeves.

"Absolutely! Just watch out for the twins—they have more energy than the sun!" I say, shaking my head at the playful tornado around us.

"Let's show them how it's done!" Adrien's eyes light up with mischief, and with the four kids buzzing around us, I know the chaos is just beginning. But with him by my side, I can face anything the day throws our way.
