"Treat, Mommy! Treat!" Mia tugs on my pant leg, her big green eyes sparkling with hope.
I kneel down, trying my best to meet her gaze levelly. "Mia, sweetheart, we've got to save the treats for the plane, remember? We're packing for Milan."
She pouts, her little lip quivering slightly. "But I wike treats! Just one, pwease?"
I chuckle at her adorable babble, her mix of earnestness and stubbornness melting my resolve. "Okay, just one treat. But only if you promise to help Mommy finish packing!"
"Yay! I help!" she squeals, clapping her hands as she hops off to find her favorite gummy bears.
As Mia enjoys her sweet reward, the chaos expands. Charlie and Chandler, my two-year-old twins, are firmly glued to their iPads, completely enthralled by whatever cartoon is flashing on the screen.
"Charlie, Chandler, it's time to go! We can't take the iPads to the plane!" Adrien calls out, his tone a mixture of patience and frustration.
"NO! I wanna watch!" Charlie's protest is immediate and loud.
Chandler screams dramatically, "I want my iPad, Daddyyyy!"
"Mia, can you help me?" I ask, ushering her over as I attempt to pry the devices from their tiny hands.
"Chawie, we're going, pwease?" Mia tackles it with her signature cuteness, bouncing on her feet.
"Stop it!" Charlie shoves her away, while Chandler continues to wail.
"Okay, time for distraction tactics," I say to myself. "Children, how about a snack for the ride?"
With the prospect of a snack, the iPads are momentarily forgotten. Adrien scoops the devices away while I rummage through the snack bags.
"Just some cheese puffs and juice boxes for the road," I say, handing them out as meager bribes.
"Yay! Puffs!" Mia cheers, taking a big bite and giggling when the cheese dust gets all over her hands.
Finally, after what feels like an eternity, we stumble out of the house. The car ride to the airport is filled with a cacophony of chatter, cries, and laughter.
At the private jet, the kids' excitement turns to awe.
"Wook at the big airpwane!" Mia declares, eyes wide.
"Giant wobbly tongue! Let's go fly!" Charlie squeals, bouncing in his seat.
"Yay! Fwy!" Chandler adds, mimicking her brother.
I can't help but smile at their enthusiasm. "Yes, we're flying to Milan! Daddy has an important modeling event there."
"Fwodeling? Like dancing?" Mia asks, tilting her head cutely.
"Kind of, but just for clothes!" I reply, and her face scrunches up in thought.
"Do the cwothes fwy?" she wonders aloud.
"Not quite, sweetie," I chuckle. "But I'm sure they will look fabulous on Daddy!"
Adrien joins us in the cabin, the flicker of a smile crossing his face. "Who's ready to go to Milan?"
"ME!" the three kids nearly scream in unison, breaking into giggles as their excitement fills the cabin.
"Alright, everyone buckle up!" he says, his normally composed demeanor softening into the role of a doting father.
As the engines roar to life, I look at my family—my husband, the renowned model, and our vibrant trio of children. The jumbled sentences, the toddler tantrums, and the endless adventure of parenthood—it's all a beautiful mess that I wouldn't trade for anything.
"Fwying to Milan!" Mia cheerfully announces, and I nod in agreement, ready for our family adventure to unfold.
And just like that, surrounded by the chaos that defines us, I can't help but feel a bubble of joy rise within. Milan, here we come!
