As I, Y/n L/n, walk into homeroom with my boyfriend Adrien Agreste, I can already feel the tension in the air. Ms. Jones, our homeroom teacher, glares at us as we take our seats. Adrien and I haven't done anything wrong, but it's clear she's in a bad mood today.
"Adrien, Y/n, may I have a word with you after class?" Ms. Jones says, her voice stern.
Adrien and I exchange a worried glance. "Sure, Ms. Jones," Adrien replies.
The rest of the class passes by in tense silence. I can feel the weight of Ms. Jones's gaze on us the entire time. As the bell rings, Adrien and I make our way to her desk.
"What's this about, Ms. Jones?" I ask, trying to keep my voice steady.
"I've received several complaints about talking during class," Ms. Jones says, her eyes flicking between Adrien and me. "And I have witnesses who say it was you two."
"We were just asking each other a question," Adrien protests. "We weren't disrupting the class."
"It's not the first time I've heard about this," Ms. Jones says, crossing her arms. "And I'm sick of it. If I have to speak to you two again, there will be consequences."
I can feel my anger rising. I can't believe she's blaming us for something so small. Before I can stop myself, I blurt out, "Are you serious? We're not kids, Ms. Jones. You can't treat us like this."
Ms. Jones's eyes widen in shock before narrowing in anger. "Excuse me? You will respect me in my classroom, young lady. I won't tolerate this kind of behavior from my students."
Adrien tries to step in, but I'm on a roll. "Respect? You don't even know us. You're just a teacher who thinks she can boss us around because she has a piece of paper that says she's in charge."
Ms. Jones's face turns bright red. "Get out of my classroom, both of you. And don't come back until you're ready to apologize for your behavior."
Adrien and I leave the classroom, both of us shocked at what just happened. I can't believe I sassed the teacher like that. But at the same time, I'm angry that she would blame us for something so small.
As we walk down the hallway, Adrien tries to talk to me. "Y/n, I can't believe you just did that. You can't talk to a teacher like that."
I cross my arms and scowl. "She had no right to blame us for something so stupid. And she had no right to treat us like we're just a couple of kids."
Adrien sighs. "I get it, but you have to understand that she's in charge. We have to respect that."
I roll my eyes. "Whatever. I'm not apologizing for standing up for ourselves."
Adrien shakes his head and walks away, leaving me alone in the hallway. I lean against the locker, feeling guilty for what I just did. Maybe I went too far. But at the same time, I can't shake the feeling that Ms. Jones was out of line.
As I make my way to my next class, I can't help but feel like I'm in trouble. And I can't help but wonder if I made the right decision by sassing the teacher. But deep down, I know I stood up for what I believed in. And that's all that matters.
