I hear the front door creak open, and I glance up from the chaos in the living room. Adrien steps in, his tousled blond hair and perfectly fitting clothes making him look impossibly handsome even after a long day of work. I immediately feel a flutter of excitement, despite the whirlwind swirling around me.
"Hey, love," he says, his voice warm and inviting. He flashes a smile that could stop traffic and walks toward me, his eyes twinkling. "Need some help?"
"Mia just dumped all her toys everywhere, Charlie and Chandler are playing a game of tag, and Luke just spit up all over me." I sigh, but I can't help but smile back at him. "Welcome to the circus."
Adrien raises an eyebrow, amusement dancing in his gaze. "Sounds like a typical evening. Model dad to the rescue?"
"More like model husband who needs a backup plan." I sway slightly, trying to get Luke comfortable in my arms as he fusses, tiny fists flailing in the air. "Can you grab me a onesie from the nursery?"
"Sure thing." He winks and starts to move toward the bedroom while I shuffle to the dining room, where Mia is currently pretending to be a princess surrounded by Charlie and Chandler, who are zooming around like little tornadoes.
"Mama! Watch this!" Mia yells, twirling in a circle and nearly knocking over a stack of blocks.
I laugh. "Easy there, my little tornado! Just don't take out your brother's toys, okay?"
"I won't!" she chirps, only to trip over a stuffed animal and lands softly on the carpet with a giggle.
In the meantime, Adrien comes back into the room, a cute onesie in hand. "Look what I found," he says, holding it high like a trophy. "I think Luke will rock this one."
As I take the onesie from him, I can't help but notice the way his shirt clings to his torso, and for a moment, everything else fades away. "Thanks, babe. He really likes being stylish."
"Just like his mom," he retorts, leaning in closer. "And his dad."
I groan playfully, tilting my head. "You're ridiculously hot, you know that?"
Adrien grins. "And you're ridiculously beautiful. But enough of that, we need to get the spit-up champion changed." He leans in, brushing his lips against my ear, and whispers, "And maybe we can get some private time later?"
I shudder at his words, not missing a beat as I answer, "Adrien, if you do that in front of the kids—"
"I'll just have to make sure they're occupied," he laughs, stealing a quick kiss from my lips before I manage to pull back.
"Mama, can I have a snack?" Mia asks, her big eyes shining.
"Sure, sweetheart, just a moment." I watch as Charlie and Chandler resume their chaotic game, darting around the living room. "Any suggestions, Queen Mia?"
"I want cookies!" she shouts enthusiastically.
"Okay, cookies it is, but first I have to change Luke's diaper," I tell her while I set him on the nearby changing table, starting to work on getting him comfortable.
Adrien stands beside me, intent on keeping the mood light. "You know, if you want, I can take over that job," he says playfully. "I think diaper changing could be a good way to bond with my son."
I laugh lightly. "I think you'd benefit from swapping in some practice sessions, darling."
"Just imagine how cute he'll be in that adorable new onesie," he murmurs, pressing a soft kiss on my temple. "And how proud I'd be to say I helped."
"Okay, one of these days, you might just be the caffeinated dad everyone's jealous of," I tease.
"Are we talking about me in a coffee shop being all trendy, or...?"
"Shut up, or I'm going to lose focus on this diaper change." I wink at him while maneuvering with Luke, sighing in relief as I slowly get him cleaned up.
"But I can't help it," he says, reveling in my attention. "You just look so... captivating."
Before I know it, I'm pulled into another kiss, soft and sweet. "In front of the kids, Adrien!"
One eyebrow raises mischievously. "They're busy," he says, glancing over at the twins who are now pretending to be pirates, wielding plastic swords.
Just as I'm about to respond, Luke coos, now freshly changed and somehow more adorable than before. "See?" I say, holding him up. "Life is good with this little one, isn't it?"
"Absolutely," Adrien replies, his voice low, his eyes locked on mine. "And you," he whispers once more, leaning in close enough for me to catch the faint smell of his cologne, "just wait until our little pirates are asleep. I have plans for you."
I bite my lip, heart racing at his words. "Maybe you should help with dinner and keep me motivated then."
"Dinner can wait," he replies, and at that moment, amidst the chaos of laughter and shouts, I realize that chaos feels a lot better when he's around.
