Bryan's POV
While Inpu probably thought I spent the entire day cleaning up the other apartment so we could start moving out, I was more so inventorying everything cause of the pain most moving companies had given me in the past.
It was just writing everything down in my phone, really only glancing at Crystal, who I had harnessed so She didn't move something and I double count it, made any noise.
I spent my entire day working on the apartment, entirely forgetting Inpu planned on taking me to see the new house.
My mind was elsewhere, so when I got a text from Inpu to meet him outside, I was a bit confused.
He was waiting for me in his car, which was when I remembered our plans, so I got Crystal buckled up and got in the car.
"So, are you going to tell me how far away it is or are you going to surprise me?"
"Well, which would you prefer?"
"Since you claim you know me so well, what do you think~?"
"Surprise it is~"
We were quiet for a bit, Inpu was clearly focused while I was just trying to debate if it was something I should press about.
He didn't seem angry like he normally did when it was bad news, so I decided pressing a bit wouldn't hurt.
"So, anything interesting at work"
"I don't want to talk about it..."
"Is it that bad? You know you can talk to me"
"Not now, this isn't something I want to discuss"
"We said once work was done, we'd tell each other anything, this seems like something I should know considering your silence, so what i-"
"I SAID NOT NOW!!"
The car just went quiet, even Crystal who was babbling in the back was quiet.
It went from a calm car ride to very tense, like I had to be careful what I said, tense.
I could tell Inpu was trying to calm down, something was up, but I knew it had to be bad if he didn't show it but blew up when I asked him.
We stayed quiet for a bit, but I watched Inpu take a few deep breathes before his ears began to lower behind his head, something I learned was a mixed signal.
Based on the fact he was trying to breath, I could easily assume he was calming down, but I wasn't going to take the risk of being wrong, so I just went on my phone.
After a bit, I felt Inpu put his hand on my thigh before he let out another long sigh, something he only did when he had something he couldn't tell me but wanted to reassure me he had it handled.
"Let me guess, something bad that could hurt us?"
"Worse, if I tell you and not careful about it, it could get both you and Kris killed"
"So another reason we're moving?"
"Yeah, to leave it simple, it was a deal I was forced into making"
"Oh, and you're sure no one will be able to find us at our new place?"
"Part of my deal is no one can follow me or my family unless I do something the breaks the deal, so we should be fine"
"That's good, I guess that also means unless your father does something on his own he can't find us either"
"Yeah...right"
We arrived at the new house shortly after and I was in awe.
It was a huge place in a neighborhood that has each house separated by the woods.
This was exactly what I had in mind when I thought of getting a house and leaving apartments.
Once we were inside, I saw exactly what Inpu meant by it was a fixer upper, but I loved it.
"Well, what do you think? Do you like it?"
"Like it? I LOVE IT!!"
I just ran over to Inpu, who was holding Crystal, and just kissed him repeatedly for a few minutes, only stopping when Crystal began to babble at me and put her hand on me so I'd hold her.
"So, I know you were expecting to just look at the place today, but I did a good look around the place, everything that needs to be replaced are either appliances or exterior things that we don't need to worry about doing inside work, so want to work on painting a few rooms?"
"But we don't have any paint"
"Wrong, I know we talked what colors we wanted some rooms to be, so I was able to sneak away from work long enough to get some paint for the living room and kitchen"
"Oh? Then what do we do about the infant?"
"You had her harnessed when I picked you up, we can always just leave her on one of our backs so she's safe and we don't have to worry about paint getting on her"
"Then you have yourself a deal~"
Inpu gave me another kiss before he went outside to grab the paint, but I couldn't help but feel very giddy about actually having my own place I can decorate as I like.
The apartment had enough space to put my own items in, but I had ideas for murals on my walls for years, I just never had a place that let me do so.
We quickly got to work, making sure we were careful to not get any on the floors despite the fact we knew it would probably be replaced.
The entire time we were cracking jokes and making each other laugh, heck, I even jokingly hit him with a paint brush I was using just to mess with him.
After a few hours, we finished and just sat on the hardwood floor while we looked at our hard work.
"So, what do you think?"
"I love it, you really know what I want"
"Well, this place also fit my vision, so I figured the inside was more yours while the outside was mine"
"You just don't know shit about interior design, that's my guess on the reason at least~"
"And to think I had any doubts about you when we started dating~"
"That goes both ways~"
"Yet here we are, parents with our own home"
"And four more on the way"
"I can't wait to have all of them born, then we have tons of little feet running around"
"It'll be so much fun to watch them interact"
"Are you really ok with them being born out of wedlock?"
"My mom and stepfather aren't, they think we should've gotten married shortly after we found the orbs, but I honestly don't care much"
"Then how would you like to be married before the triplets will be born?"
I looked over at Inpu, just slightly confused, before he pointed to Crystal who was holding something.
After a bit of prying, I took it out of her hands, finding a beautiful ring that I pointed out to Inpu months ago.
"You're kidding me"
"Not even a little"
"When did you get this?! I pointed this out months ago!"
"I went back the next day to buy it, I just wanted to find the right time to surprise you with it, and considering we're really taking another step now, I figured now was the right time"
At this point, I just wanted Inpu to shut up and kiss me, so I put the ring on my finger before I began to kiss him again.
We just sat quietly, just enjoying each other's company before we had to go back to the apartment for the night.
