Bryan's POV
After a long chance throughout the city doing hero work, I went home not expecting anything else for the day.
I really didn't have much on my mind, so I was trying to get a bit of work done on my resume before I went to bed for the night.
By the time I was done, I just closed my eyes and began to curl up on the couch, really only because I didn't want to move from my spot.
As I kept getting closer and closer to sleep, I heard the door open followed by the sound of Inpu walking around to where I was.
"Don't you dare get any closer... I know you got away using a sewer drain"
"So? We've done worse after I've done grosser"
"Because before then I had no idea it was you so I was willing to let you, now go shower, otherwise I won't let you snuggle up and I'll make you sleep on the couch and I'll take the bed"
"Oh come on!"
"Go"
I heard a few grumpy grumbles followed by the shower turning on, so I just moved to the bedroom so I could get some actual sleep.
Inpu finished his shower after about 20 minutes, but I could tell he didn't leave from the door leading into the bedroom based on his reaction.
"If you're going to move rooms, why not tell me?"
"You villain side is showing, plus I chased you for like eight blocks, I'm tired, I'm allowed to move rooms without telling you"
"No you're not~"
"We're not sleeping together tonight"
"I did not tire you out that much!"
"Yeah, well. I'm not in the mood"
"You sure you're ok? You're never like this, even when we do play fight, you always seem less serious"
"I don't know, I just feel off today"
"Is it a power result or something else?"
"Something else, I felt this way while I was doing my hero work today, it just got worse when I got home"
"Alright, come here"
Inpu pulled me closer, but not before making sure my wings were stretched out as to not keep them tight.
He began to rub my back, but as he did, I felt the pain begin to get worse.
I just tried to cuddle up, hoping that would somehow fix it, but alas, nothing.
Eventually, I passed out from the pain, and when I woke up again, I was alone in the room, but I could sense someone else was in the apartment with Inpu, someone...small?
Letting my curiosity get the better of me, I went to see who it was, but upon exiting the bedroom, I saw Inpu holding a baby.
"Please tell me I'm still dreaming"
"Then I have to say nothing"
"How did you know it would be the first orb? I thought we still had a few years left"
"We did, but I was doing my own research, the time estimate is based on when they get their powers, we know when they'll be born cause any special features we have will feel like they're locking up"
"So what time was our baby born?"
"She was born around three in the morning, I made sure to check after my tails and ears began to hurt"
"We have a baby..."
"That we do"
"And she'll have her power start to show when she's two"
"From what I know, yup"
I really didn't know how to process this information, so I just gently took the baby from Inpu's arms and just took a good look at her.
"Did you name her?"
"We did have a list, I was just going with your top results for the time being"
"You're going to have to remind me, its too early to process"
"Crystal, you said you wanted that name because of something from when you were younger"
"Not entirely the truth, but hey, you lied more than I have"
"You did the same thing!"
"Mine was for the greater good"
Inpu just shut up after that, realizing he wasn't going to win.
We both just decided to move to the couch, just so we could get some actual family time.
To be honest, I don't think either of us really thought this far when it came to our babies, so actually holding the first one in our arms was almost unreal to us.
"So how will we fit them into our second lives?"
"What do you mean?"
"I'm a villain, you're a hero, it seems only natural that they'd eventually follow in our footsteps"
"I really don't know, how would you feel about any of them following you"
"I'd love it, but at the same time, that means they'd be constantly avoiding their other father, plus we aren't married, so if we ever split up for any reason they pretty much will pick their fate"
"Yeah, I suppose that's how it would happen, but what if something does happen, how would we deal with that?"
"Well, I say we divide, one of us takes the triplets and the other will take the other two"
"But what if they don't want that?"
"We'd figure it out, its not like we'd be able to go to court for it though"
"True, how about we think of it this way, in the event we do split, we stick to our current plan if they are little and if not, we let them choose"
"Deal, now lets stop with all the sad talk and actually enjoy time with our little girl"
As Inpu said that, I heard Crystal start to gently cry, but it made me realize, we still had like nothing for her.
Not wanting to be bad parents, I sent Inpu out to go get some quick stuff that we would need while I called a few of my friends to let them know that we probably wouldn't need to patrol tonight, after all, there was no way Inpu was going to leave the two of us alone.
Once Inpu got back and we were able to get the house fully set up, I went to take a nap, and right before I could fall asleep, Inpu moved me so I was laying on top of him.
We stayed like that for a while, falling asleep after a while.
I wasn't sure how long we were asleep, all I know what we were woken up pretty late in the night to Crystal crying from the other side of the room.
"Inpu, you're up, I have an actual job to do tomorrow"
