Y/N's POV

The next day, the sun peeked through the curtains, filling the room with a warm, golden glow. Lizzie stirred beside me, her lashes fluttering as she slowly woke from her slumber. I watched her peaceful expression, a soft smile playing on my lips as I brushed a stray strand of hair away from her face.

As she blinked her eyes open, a sleepy smile curved her lips. "Good morning," she murmured, her voice husky with sleep. I leaned in to press a gentle kiss to her forehead, breathing in the familiar scent of her skin.

"Good morning, beautiful," I replied, my heart swelling with affection. Lizzie stretched languidly, a contented sigh escaping her lips. "What's on the agenda for today?" she asked, her eyes bright with curiosity.

I pulled her closer, reveling in the warmth of her body against mine. "Do you remember our walk on the beach?" She nods at my question and snuggles deeper into my neck.

"I was thinking we could visit your parents or is it too soon for me to meet them?” I couldn't help but feel a twinge of nervousness at the prospect of meeting her parents, although I suggested meeting them.

Lizzie's eyes sparkled with excitement at the suggestion of meeting her family. She sat up, her messy hair falling around her face like a dark halo. "I'd love for you to meet them," she said eagerly, reaching for my hand. "They'll adore you, I just know it." After seeing the trust and affection in Lizzie's eyes bolstered my confidence. I smiled back at her, squeezing her hand reassuringly. "Then it's settled. Let's go meet your parents" I said, determination coloring my voice.

“Should we surprise them?" she whispered, eyes sparkling with mischief. "Or if you don't want to tell my parents about us, I could call them right now and tell them that I'm bringing a friend over" The idea of shocking her parents brought a smile to my face, but I also didn't want to cause any tension. Me and Lizzie both knew that this was a big step for her parents to accept our 'situationship', they don't even know that she's into  women.

I also knew the importance of approaching the situation delicately. I leaned in to press a soft kiss to Lizzie's lips before replying, "As much as I love the idea of surprising them, maybe it would be best to give them a heads-up. It might be a lot to take in all at once."

She nodded in understanding, her eyes filled with gratitude. "You're right," she said, squeezing my hand affectionately. "I'll call them and let them know we're coming over. They'll appreciate the heads-up."

I admire the way Lizzie handled things with such grace and consideration. As she dialed her phone to make the call, I sat back and watched her with a swell of affection in my chest. I couldn't help but admire the way the morning light danced in her hair, turning the strands into spun gold. The sunlight danced in her eyes, turning them into pools of emeralds.Lizzie lifted the phone to her ear, glancing over at me with a reassuring smile as she waited for the call to connect. I could hear the faint sound of her mother’s voice on the other end, warm and inviting, echoing just enough for me to imagine the comforting familiarity Lizzie must feel each time they spoke. Her fingers instinctively found mine, lacing them together in a reassuring gesture. As I felt the warmth of her touch, a mix of excitement and nervousness buzzed through me; today would be the first time meeting her parents.

"Mom," Lizzie began, her voice calm but carrying a hint of apprehension, "I wanted to bring someone with me today. I think you’ll love her. She’s…special."

A pause hung in the air, and I could almost picture her mother, Janette, tilting her head in curiosity. Lizzie glanced at me, a small, slightly nervous smile playing on her lips. “No, no surprises, I promise. We’ll be there soon.”
