"It was amazing!" I express, recalling the day. I can't believe just how much I could feel the car. It was like I was meant to be in there.

The second I hit the gas pedal and got going, it was like everything else disappeared. I was in my mind, driving around, apparently being pretty fast.

I could actually feel my heart flutter in my chest, and everything seemed to be right. I belonged in that car.

"Yeah, your results didn't disappoint at all." Lando comments.

We're having dinner now, not all the drivers are here since we're not all in the same hotel, each depending on the team.

George and Alex, for example, aren't here. Which is really disappointing because I know George is probably upset right now—his results not being the best— and needs a friend. But it's only our first testing round and there are still five days to go.

We're sitting at a table, talking about our cars and all that, Lando, Charles, Pierre, Max, Carlos, Daniel, and I. What initially was just Lan, Charles and I, turned into Pierre joining us, followed by Carlos, then Dani who dragged Max with him.

Max is mostly introverted. While his old teammate, Daniel, is the life of the party. I haven't talked much with Dani but I already absolutely love him. He's outgoing, funny, talkative and actually sweet.

Max, I still haven't really connected with. He barely speaks, more of a listener but when he does he can be actually funny and enjoys sarcasm.

Carlos is like, in between. He isn't really in the spotlight but he is socially engaged and joins in on the conversation. He seems like a fine guy, energetic and smart. Oh, and he's super hot.

Anyway, back to reality, Daniel just asked me how I feel after my first actual time in the Mercedes. He's really interested in me, I've been mostly the center of attention with all the questions.

"But you guys? How do you like your cars?" I take the focus off me for a minute. Daniel, of course, is the first to answer.

I listen to him as he complains and rejoices at the same time. Lando interrupts him, which turns to Carlos joining the conversation and then I'm completely out as they start arguing with each other.

I take this moment to eat a little. Taking a bite of my meat, I hear a whisper, "But how amazing did it feel?" I turn and see Charles, still on my answer.

He's sat next to me and since the table is not that large, we're really close, almost touching. I smile, looking back at him as I drop my fork.

"I don't even know how to describe it, Charles." I start, actually letting it all out. It feels good to be able to talk to someone about all this. "During just my first lap, I could feel it in my chest that it was perfect. I was fated to be in that seat." I tell him.

He listens to me, ears open as he nods along. "All my problems went away the second I started hearing my engine running. I forgot about everything, I mean everything! I didn't even overthink a thing, and just drove, feeling only me, the car, and the track."

"I need to be in it again like right now." I laugh and he chuckles. I'm a little overexcited over all this but it's fucking out of this world. To actually have reached where I am, it's insane.
