I haven't talked to Charles ever since Monday.

He's sent me a couple, actually, a thousand, texts, trying to get me to talk to him again. I kind of escaped.

Toto was in Brackley for the two weeks off, I decided to join and check in on the headquarters during the second week before we flew away to Hungary for the weekend.

I've been reading his texts, I just haven't been answering. I know it's horrible from me but each message made me angrier and angrier over the situation.

He was getting a fucking girl-toy for people to stop talking about us. And me? I had to be another toy in this plot and play the supportive friend role.

It's just stupid. It won't even work.

I'm in the car now, waiting for him and his new girl, Marya Stones, to show up so we can get going to the track. We're even fucking driving there together. Was that really necessary?

I really don't want to face either of them. Not his sorry expression and neither her splendid face. I stalked her for a good hour the other night.

Cecilee flew in to the headquarters too, two days before Friday, or today, since she had an important all engineers required meeting. Also I begged her to come.

Later that night, we stayed up quite late together stalking this woman's every move. She was genuinely the perfect picture for anyone.

Popular, pretty, healthy, a fucking model. Everyone seems to love her. There's not one piece of drama or criticism that draws next to her.

I almost created a fake gossip page to expose her as a fake girlfriend or whatever but Cecilee made me realize she was innocent in this.

I'm just turning into the worst person ever now. Almost ruining other people's lives because I feel bad.

Suddenly, I hear the car's door slide open. They're here.

I stay frozen, trying to act unbothered as I stare right into my phone that has the same screen open as the past ten minutes where I've been procrastinating this whole thing in my head.

She comes in first. Damn. Even her legs are intimidating. She's barely stepped foot in and I'm already jealous of how much more perfect she looks in real life.

Her skin is shining, her eyes are smoky, her hair is glowing... Her jaw is so well defined. And her mini dress is the cutest piece of outfit I've ever seen. Somehow, she's even taller than I imagined.

I might just cry now.

Then, he follows.

Jeans, Ferrari shirt, Ferrari cap. Same as usual, but nothing as usual. I gulp, biting the inside of my cheeks as I can't stop staring at him.

He doesn't make an effort not look back. His eyes say everything. He's vulnerable. I feel my entire body shiver as I go back to staring at my now turned off phone.

"Hey, I'm Marya." She's the first to speak as they take seats next to each other, facing me.

I ignore Charles stare. "Maisie." I force a smile, shaking her hand back. I hate that she actually looks nice and not fake. I'd much have preferred it the other way.
