"So, Charles..." The interviewer in front of me starts and I nod along. "Can you tell us about your summer break and how are you feeling ahead of this weekend, with your last race being won by yourself?"

I lean in closer to the mic, putting my hands down on the table and clearing my throat. "Well, first of all, summer break was amazing. Great time with my friends, my family, my girlfriend..." I answer and as soon as the last word left my mouth, I realize what the fuck I just said. I keep cool and continue though, not to raise any suspicion. "And..." What was his second question? I can't think properly anymore. Oh, oh. "Yeah, the car feels great, the team is confident, so am I. I think it'll be a good weekend for us." I affirm, keeping my answer short in case I start blabbering now about how much I love Maisie.

She's not scheduled in the same interview as me today. Seb, Pierre, Niko and Valterri are present.

"Pierre, how do you feel?" The same interviewer reroutes, cooling off me.

I lean back and start thinking in my own head. I'm so fucked. Maisie and my PR officer are both going to kill me, it's just the race to who does it first.

"Obviously not where I want to be, being dropped from the major team. But I'm staying optimistic and will do my best to fight for as much points as I can this weekend." He answers but I'm not much focused on his answer. "I've had a lot of time this break to think and redirect my thoughts and goals for the rest of the season. And I'm just hoping for the best this weekend here in Italy."

"Did the timing of the break help you process the news?" The same man continues with Pierre.

"Yeah, it helped, a lot. I had time to clear my head." He affirms. "Especially with some friends's company. Like Charles here," He points at me, waking me up from my thoughts as I look to my right at him. "But his girlfriend took a lot of his attention so I'd just turn to Maisie then for advice." He jokes to the cameras and I realize what he's just done.

He's literally just saved my ass. Differencing Maisie and my girlfriend as two different people in a fun and discreet way. The smart ass!

I join in on the small chuckle of his, mine being more of a relieved sigh as I thank him with a high five from underneath the table.

He just saved my butt.

The conference goes on pretty smoothly for the rest of the fifteen minutes. Only two questions asked to me and none slightly refer to my girlfriend.

When it ends, Pierre and I make our way out together, Mia, my PR manager takes me away for a second warning me about my talking next time as it can get trouble.

Pierre and I make our way through the paddock together now, each walking to our own garage. As we talk about his new team after he's been demoted from RedBull for Alex Albon, a familiar face stands in front of us.

"You're very smart. And you control your words dumb-ass." Olive comments, apparently having seen the interview, pointing firstly at Pierre then at me before walking past and continuing her way to wherever.

Both me and Pierre turn our heads and watch her walkaway, she didn't even give me a chance to talk back. She's just a driver's cousin, yet the way she walks makes it seem like she rules this entire grid.
