❝ i'm gonna get you back. ❞

"I'm sorry, what?"

"Go get her back."

Let's recap shall we?

It all started when Lando came knocking on my door.

I was sitting on my bed, almost asleep as I lied there, looking up at the ceiling, rethinking what the fuck had happened today. Actually, rethinking my entire life. I did not sign up for that. What the fuck?

Maisie and I crashed. I swear for a second, my heart exploded. I might just have slid away into the gravel but she completely spun before stopping.

I was so sure something had happened. But, luckily, nothing. Just pure anger of how both our races ended. It was a mistake on both our ends, I don't think any of us would have done anything differently thinking back. It's just racing.

When we started fighting out on that track, I completely forgot everything else. The fact that we were in the middle of a sprint, the fact that there were cameras surrounding us, the fact that there were even marshals a little further away, scared to approach us as we looked pretty intense.

I didn't want to fight, but I couldn't keep it in anymore. All the pent up frustration in my body; I just snapped. I yelled, I said some things I regret.

Yet, weirdly, admitting I still love her, it isn't one of them. I felt awful after saying it, like it isn't fair for any of us. But, thinking about it now, it was killing me inside not saying anything all those years.

Maybe it wasn't the right time nor the right way. However, I finally did it. Nevertheless, Maisie stood speechless. All the yelling, the comments; they disappeared. Only that faceless expression all across her face.

I couldn't read what she thought. All I knew, she was confused. I didn't drag it out any longer after that. I just walked away and let her deal with the mess we created together.

Now, after the sprint and the qualifying, videos of me and Maisie fighting are all across the internet. They couldn't catch our words, but the press still managed to turn it into something so much more dramatic than it actually was.

Okay, it was kind of very dramatic, but you got what I mean.

Trillions of headlines are running. For example; No Love Lost: Maisie Tells Charles Off After Brutal Sprint Collision, or; Netflix is LOVING This: Maisie Mikati and Charles Leclerc Give 'Drive to Survive' Its Next Big Episode, let's not forget; Mercedes and Ferrari at War? Maisie and Charles' Bahrain Fallout Sparks Tension, and lastly my personal favorite; Bahrain Sprint or WWE Match? Mikati and Leclerc Go Head-to-Head!

These were very funny to read. I want to kill myself funny of course, not haha funny.

Our PR teams are already in talks to deal with how bad it is but I honestly couldn't care less. If it wasn't even for PR, maybe the two of us could've been really together.

There's no concrete reason that says we can't date. Yet, it's still an unspoken rule. Ferrari and Mercedes are rivals, nothing more, nothing less.

The worse part was that when I came back into my garage, the screens around, broadcasting the race, were zoomed in on Maisie when she made it back to her garage.
