There is no way.

"CHARLES! CHARLES!" I run through the paddock, in my racing suit, thirty minutes before the race.

I've never run so fast in my entire life.

I spot him in his garage, talking to Bryan, his engineer, about the race that is coming, of course. I impose my presence in their garage, the mechanics frowning as they see me come in.

Charles quickly hears me as I'm yelling out his name like a crazy person. He dismisses Bryan and joins me, taking just a few steps forward before I stop myself from bumping into him.

"Are you okay?" He raises a brow, analyzing me with his eyes as his hands roam around my body worriedly.

"Look!" I get my phone out and show him the Instagram post.

He grabs my phone and squints his eyes as he reads the message. I move uncontrollably as he reads. He's so fucking slow, come on!

A good minute passes before he looks back at me, stunned. "This isn't a joke, right?" He frowns.

"It's the official account, what do you think?" I shake my head.

"What the fuck..." He mutters, completely shocked as I was five minutes ago before I made a fucking sprint to here.

"We're officially public and it's okay." I state the obvious as he stands in his place, lost in his mind for a little.

His eyes come back to me and they dilate. I love his eyes. "We did it." He says in disbelief. I nod my head along.

We fucking did it!

He cracks into a laugh before picking me up and forcing our lips together. In front of his whole garage, sure why not?

I chuckle against his lips as he holds me tight, feeling like he'll never let me go, ever.

And in that moment, I realize: Charles will forever be mine.

No matter what happens. Because if we were able to make it through this, we can make it through anything, as long as we're together.

It's literally always been and always will be, me and him against the world. And I wouldn't have it any other way.

"I love you." He mumbles, his tongue entangled between mine, his hands around my back and mine around his neck.

"Marry me." I find myself blurting out.

It was a complete mistake, something that just blurted out of the blue while I was caught up in the heat of the moment.

He officially freezes. Pulling away from the kiss, he raises a brow as he looks down at me, placing me on my own two feet again.
