I lay in bed in peace as I thought about many things. Starting of course with the biggest topic of all lingering over me and Sofia like an elephant. Besides that, I got other issues, there are two idiots in my house making a shit ton of noise causing me to stay awake. I don't know what's happening down there but I hear yelling, screaming, running, hitting, and laughing.
Those two should never be left alone in a room, judging their personalities, they are worse than Ryan and his brother in a room. And those two are terrible together.
I heard the door ring suddenly which is unusual. Nobody ever rings my door out of the blue, and I never got a heads-up from anyone. So of course my natural instinct was to grab my gun and slowly make it out of my room. There I heard someone having the most peaceful conversation with Sofia I've ever heard.
Her voice was wrapped with pure happiness as she talked to whoever was at the door. The visitor didn't seem any less calm and happy than her, he was even thanking her. Someone was thanking Sofia?!
I put my gun down but still griped it remembering what her father told me earlier. "Don't trust anyone around her when her birthday month is near. Security is crucial in those times, trust me, after they fail for a few months they will back out and come next year. Keep her safe."
The next thing I know I hear a gunshot from a far distance. I get an urgent call from the head of my house security.
"Boss two guards got shot down at the front gate, Mark just called us to inform us that Ace has also been shot and is been taken to a hospital as we speak, Mark suspects it's the same person who shot all three but he's looking into it." Head security notifies me over the phone.
I thank him and hang up the phone, the first thing I need to do is to make sure Sofia is safe then I'll make my way to the hospital with Ryan. I remind myself I'm on the stairs and the two are probably down there with the shooter around the corner.
I quickly realized that the man at the door had left so I walked down the stairs to where the two were, I went around the house checking the living room where they settled before. Each place I checked and found empty the more I started to feel anxious. Her dad trusted me and I lost his daughter in less than a day.
I went to the most logical place Ryan would be in, the kitchen. He was indeed there but he was alone. He stood there with his eyebrow raised as he snacked on some jalapeño potato chips.
"Where's Sofia?" I ask him rushed and serious.
He raises his eyebrow and scoffs putting another couple of chips in his mouth he sure is purposely taking his time chewing his chips because I'm running out of patience. I don't know who exactly is a threat to Sofia but I know her dad will murder me if she disappears. You can see it in the way he talks about her and treats her that she's the most precious thing to him.
"Relax your horny ass and wait for me to finish eating. You can fuck her later." He rolls his eyes looking at my impatient face and sensing my annoyance.
