ONESHOT | 21The afternoon sun filtered through the classroom windows, casting a warm glow over your desk as you studied diligently for an upcoming exam. The chatter of your classmates faded into the background as you focused on your notes, determined to ace the test. Suddenly, the classroom door swung open, and your friends—Mina, Jihyo, and Jake—piled in, their voices animated with excitement. "Hey, Y/n!" Mina called out, waving at you. "You won't believe what we just found!" You looked up from your books, curious. "What's up?" Jihyo plopped down on the desk next to you, her eyes sparkling. "We were just talking about old legends and myths. Have you ever heard the story of the Kitsune?" Your interest was immediately piqued. "Kitsune? The fox spirits?" Jake nodded eagerly. "Yeah, they're fascinating! In Japanese folklore, Kitsune are magical foxes with incredible powers. Some say they can live for centuries and possess the ability to shape-shift." Mina leaned in, her voice dropping to a whisper. "There's this one legend about a Kitsune who falls in love with a human. It's a really tragic and beautiful story."
You tilted your head, intrigued. "Really? What happens?" Jihyo took a deep breath, preparing to recount the tale. "So, the story goes that a long time ago, in a small village in Japan, there was a beautiful Kitsune who lived in the nearby forest. She had the power to transform into a stunningly beautiful woman, and one day, she met a young, kind-hearted man from the village." Mina continued, her eyes wide with excitement. "They fell in love at first sight, but there was a catch. The Kitsune had to keep her true identity a secret, or she would lose her magical powers and become an ordinary fox forever." Jake's expression grew serious. "Despite her love for the man, she struggled to keep her secret. The villagers were suspicious of her sudden appearance and her magical aura. Over time, the Kitsune found it increasingly difficult to maintain her disguise." You listened intently, captivated by the story. "So what happened to them?" Jihyo sighed, her voice growing softer. "Eventually, the Kitsune's true nature was revealed. The man, heartbroken and terrified, rejected her. She was forced to return to the forest, and she lived out her days in solitude, forever longing for the love she had lost."
Mina's voice was filled with melancholy. "It's said that she still roams the forest, waiting for a chance to find true love again. Some people believe that if you go to the forest at night, you might catch a glimpse of her beautiful, nine-tailed form." You looked at your friends, your mind racing with thoughts of the enchanting Kitsune from the story. "That's such a beautiful and sad tale. I never knew there was so much to Kitsune lore." Jake smiled, clearly pleased with your reaction. "It's one of the many fascinating legends out there. Kitsune are such complex and intriguing creatures." As your friends continued discussing the legend, you found yourself lost in thought, your curiosity about Kitsune growing. Little did you know, this newfound fascination would soon lead you to a real Kitsune with a story all his own.

That night, unable to shake the story from your mind, you decided to take a walk through the forest. The moonlight filtered through the trees, casting long shadows on the ground. As you walked deeper into the woods, you couldn't help but think of the Kitsune from the legend—beautiful, mysterious, and tragic. As you reached a small clearing, you paused, your heart pounding with anticipation. You sighed, feeling a mix of excitement and apprehension. Suddenly, you heard a rustling noise behind you. You turned around quickly, but the forest was silent once more. Your curiosity got the better of you, and you continued walking, though you kept a vigilant eye on your surroundings. Just as you were about to leave the clearing, a flicker of light caught your eye. There, in the moonlit clearing, stood a man whose form shimmered oddly. Before your eyes, he began to change. His body elongated, fur sprouted, and in an instant, he transformed into a magnificent fox with nine glowing tails. The fur was a mesmerizing blend of deep black and silver, shimmering under the moonlight.
