"How many times do I have to tell you? I don't want you around other men." Jungkook's voice was sharp, his jaw clenched as he stared at you from across the small living room. His dark eyes, usually so mesmerizing, were now filled with restrained fury. You sighed, rubbing your temples. Not this again. "Jungkook, it's just an assignment. I didn't pick the group. The professor did." you explained.  "I don't care." His voice was low, but the intensity made your stomach twist. "You should have asked to switch groups." "That's ridiculous! I can't just—" "Yes, you can." He took a step closer, his presence overwhelming. "You just don't want to." Your fingers curled into fists. "That's not true. It's a mandatory assignment. I can't exactly go up to my professor and say, 'Sorry, my boyfriend won't let me work with guys.' That would be insane!" Jungkook scoffed, his tongue pressing against his cheek in irritation. "So you'd rather spend hours with them? Laugh at their jokes? Let them think they have a chance with you?" You exhaled sharply. "Oh my god, Jungkook. They don't like me. We're just classmates working on a stupid paper. Not everything is about romance!"

His eyes darkened, and suddenly, he was right in front of you. His hand grabbed your wrist, not painfully, but firm enough to make you stop moving. "You're so naive," he muttered, voice laced with frustration. "Do you really think men don't look at you that way? Do you think they don't fantasize about you? They're just waiting for an opportunity." he continued. "That's your paranoia talking." "No, that's reality," he shot back. "I know how men think, baby. And I know they wouldn't hesitate to take advantage of you the second you let your guard down." You swallowed, trying to keep your voice steady. "So what, you expect me to just isolate myself? Never talk to another guy again? Never work with them?" "If that's what it takes to keep you safe," he said without hesitation. You let out a bitter laugh. "That's not love, Jungkook. That's control." His grip on your wrist tightened just slightly. "Love is control. If I don't protect you, who will?" you closed your eyes and sighed.  "You're not protecting me. You're suffocating me."

His expression flickered—just for a second, something vulnerable passed through his gaze before his possessiveness took over again. "You think I'm suffocating you? Then fine." He let go of your wrist abruptly, stepping back. "Go be in your little group. Be around those guys. But don't come crying to me when one of them crosses a line." You stared at him, your heart pounding. He had never let an argument go this easily before. Somehow, it felt even worse. "Jungkook—" "Do whatever you want," he muttered, turning his back to you. "Just remember, I warned you." You clenched your fists, biting your lip to hold back the frustration bubbling inside you. No matter what you said, Jungkook would always twist it, always make it seem like he was right. And the worst part? A tiny, nagging part of you wondered if he was.

"You're sighing again." Sua's voice cut through the noisy cafeteria, but you barely acknowledged her, stabbing at your food with your fork. "That's like the tenth time in five minutes," Bora added, resting her chin on her palm as she studied you. "Did your professor yell at you again?" You exhaled sharply, gripping your fork tighter. "Yeah. I tried convincing him to let me switch groups, but the man practically chewed my head off." Sua groaned. "Ugh, I knew he was strict, but that's insane. Did you at least tell him why you wanted to switch?" You hesitated. "I just said I was uncomfortable working with them." "And?" "And he said I was being unprofessional." You scowled, stabbing at your rice aggressively. "Told me I had to 'learn to cooperate with everyone' and 'set aside personal feelings.'" Bora winced. "Oof. Professors always say that when they don't wanna deal with student drama." You let out another sigh, this one heavier than the last. Sua leaned in, poking your arm. "Okay, what's really going on? You've been in a mood since morning." Your eyes flickered up, landing on the TV screen hanging from the ceiling.
