Chapter 19: undercover

A few weeks later everyone was at Rossi' house for a game night with the team as they were all given a few days off after a particularly long case involving domestic violence, it ended badly and took longer than usual to solve so they all really needed the break.

As the night went on everyone was having a blast. "Okay who wants another drink?" Rossi says standing up and collecting a couple empty glasses around the room. A few people ask for another including jessica and then Rossi scans the room furrowing his brows "where did Aaron and Emily go?"

Everyone then too looked around confused, and jessica's eyes widened in realisation and jumps up " you know what Dave sit down I'll get those drinks" she goes over to him, taking the glasses out of his hand panicked.

"Are you sure? You don't have to, I am the host" he assured her.

"Yeah yeah no I'm fine just sit down, relax. Enjoy your time here" she said in a weird voice not wanting to know what hotch and Emily were getting up to but also knowing that the secret couple didn't want anyone knowing yet.

"Okay.." Rossi accepted suspiciously.

"Hey pretty eyes are you okay?" Morgan asked curiously as she swiftly headed for the door.

"Mhm! Just... tipsy" which wasn't completely untrue to be fair. she then smiled then dashed to the kitchen where she saw hotch and Emily kissing, rather passionately. A slight disgusted expression appeared on her face as she cleared her throat at the door, alerting them of her presence and they awkwardly moved away from each other.

"Jessica- we were just..."

"Yeah I don't need to know the details... I already do." She put the empty drinks down and started getting new ones. "But you guys have to be more careful if you don't want to get caught you know. I was almost Rossi"

"You what?" Emily looked at her strangely.

"Doesn't matter but anyways, you better get back in there, they're starting to get suspicious."

"She's right we should" hotch agreed.

"Thank you for covering for us" Emily smiled.

"Anything for you tater tot"  she smiled at Emily who tried stifling her giggle.

"Jessica, are you drunk?"

"Just a lil bit" she nodded. Hotch and Emily couldn't help but quietly laugh at their drunken friend. "Soo... how long are you two thinking of keeping this underwaps for cause it's getting kinda exhausting having to cover for you two. You're not the best at hiding things."

"Well we don't know really we hadn't thought about it, you weren't even meant to find out yet"

"But I did cause I'm a genius"

"No because you are a very persistent person but we'll go with genius for now" Emily winked at her as jess tried making drinks for people, however hotch did have to step in and help when she nearly spilt red wine everywhere. "So um Jess hun? You haven't told anyone about us yet, have you?"

"No no of course not"

"Not even your dad? You too are very close nowadays, I just want to make sure"

"No no, I still haven't even figured out how I'm going to tell him I'm going on a date yet. How do you think I'm gonna tell him about your sex life"

"Agent green" hotch awkwardly swallowed a lump in his throat.

"What! it's the truth to be fair, you two are having se-"

"Jessica!" Hotch said a little louder desperately trying to get her to stop.

"Sorry!" She threw her hands up in defence getting him to relax.jessica's choice of words were a little bold considering she was talking about her boss but oh well,  she thought it was kind of funny in the moment.
