A very unhappy and tired Jessica rolled over, picking up her phone to see hotch calling. She groaned and checked the time in the corner of her screen. 5:37am.

"You've got to be kidding me" she thought and answered it. "A case?" She said and she started to get out of bed.

"Yeah and get here as soon as you can... this is a big one" she hung up and went to her bathroom to get ready. She didn't waist too much time getting ready so she threw on the first clothes she could find off the back of her chair which happened to be a white cami top, her old college navy Yale zip up hoodie and black flared pants, she threw her hair up in a messy bun and pulled her converse on then ran out the door to her car.

It took her 20 minutes to get to the BAU and the entire drive their she had a horrible feeling in the pit of her stomach, something about this case just didn't sit right with her and she hadn't even heard it yet. She brushed off the feeling and went inside. Of course knowing her luck Spencer just happened to run into the elevator as the doors started to close and Jess rolled her eyes.

It had been two weeks since the bar and jess hadn't spoken Spencer since, the only time they did was to make snarky remarks and subtly competing with each other. The elevator ride felt like it was never ending and the tension in the metal box they stood in could be cut with a knife.

"Jessica I-" thankfully Spencer was cut off by the doors sliding open and jessica walked as fast as she could with Spencer quickly trailing behind her.

"No."

"Please just-"

"Im seriously not interested in this anymore it's exhausting especially for 6:15 in the morning"

"Fine but don't expect me to be willing to help you at all" he says annoyed.

"Good" she says bluntly and they walk in and sit in the conference room with the team.

"Okay guys buckle up we have a quite a few victims" JJ started. None of the team liked the idea that there had been so many victims already.

"How many exactly?" Rossi asked

"13" JJ said as a wave of sadness washed over the team. "And they are all children-"

"What crazy bastard could kill 13 innocent children" Emily said in disbelief.

"What's the bastards type?" Jess said referring to the victims.

"Thats the thing, it doesn't fully make sense" everyone looked at her confused "they are all brunette girls, Caucasian." she starts putting up their pictures up to show the team " thing is, almost all of the victims get older in age with each kill"

"Almost?" Spencer's repeats.

"Two sets of victims are the same age, jenna mitchel and Aubrey winters were both 8. Amy Montgomery and Ellie bright were both 12. The other them they all get older with each kill"

"Are there any other connections between the victims?" Hotch said looking at all the pictures of each victim.

"Yes. They were all foster children. The latest victim, maya Kennedy, 15. She was found 4 hours ago, in the backyard of her foster home."

"What was her Cause of death?" Something about this case felt familiar to Jess but she couldn't quite place her finger on it.

"Same as all the other victims 3 gunshots to the abdomen... she bled out on the porch" she paused and the room fell silent but the air felt heavy, like it was crushing everyone. "The only thing different about this last killing was an earring"
