One Month later, everything and everyone were getting back to normal, jessica and hotch did a review and she was good to go back out in the field so Everything was going great, this week Spencer and Rossi were going out of town to do a talk at Yale. "Dad please can I come with you two it'll be fun!" Jess was desperate to go with them."I know it will but we haven't got clearance from hotch and we don't really need you"
"Okay ouch" she said sarcastically "dad please I went to Yale! I was a student there so i understand the kids and some of the professors will remember me!"
"you went to Yale? That was my safety school"
"dad I was a runaway Foster kid living out of my car, it's a miracle I even went to college let alone an Ivy League at 15" she said bluntly and he made an expression to say 'fair enough'. "Dad please can I come with?"
"If you can get clearance from hotch"
She got very excited "Really!?"
"No" she sighed rolling her eyes "look you've already taken a lot of time off work. Just stay this time and next time we go you can come too"
"Fine, fine your right"
"i know i am. anyways i have to go, rossi is expecting me in 13 minutes. just go to work while im gone"spencer started walking out to the car followed by jess.
"i will you don't have to worry"
"but the problem is you see, i do worry. all the time. so just please, don't do anything crazy"
"i would never" she makes a playfully offended face and he chuckles. "But in all seriousness dad I'll be fine I promise. See you in six days"
"Five and a half" he corrected her then they said their goodbyes then jessica went back inside. She spent the entire day relaxing. It was a weekend and she had no where to be and as much as she loves her dad it was a little refreshing when he wasn't there every now and then. Spencer is a very neat and organised person. Jessica on the other hand, was not. She was actually kind of the opposite, she was messy and a little disorganised at the best of times. Spencer was always tidying up things that were never messy while jessica was always late to pretty much everything. so when he wasn't home she was presented with the chance of letting go a little. But also after being basically her only friend to herself for so many years it sometimes felt weird being around other people so much but when she was on her own she was free to be in her own little world.
By night time she was curled up on the couch watching movies. It was windy out and it wasn't until a she heard a faint sound at the window. She instantly tensed up, pausing the TV she got up and carefully checked the window. The silence in the house wasn't comforting anymore, it was deafening. After a few minutes of nothing happening Jess convinced herself she was being silly and went up to bed.Hours later, jessica was peacefully asleep until a loud crash outside woke her up suddenly. she instantly sat up breathing heavily, fixated on her bedroom door as if Elliott might just walk through it at any moment. she grabbed her phone and rang Spencer. The phone just rang through and eventually went to voicemail. Realisjng he was probably asleep, checking her alarm clock it was nearly 4am. Jess knew she didn't want to be alone right now but didn't know who to call. There was one person she wanted to call but she wasn't sure she should. Her thumb
Hovered over the contact she wanted to talk to. Hesitating before finally giving in and calling."Jessica?" Ethan's tired voice on the other end of the phone. However jessica couldn't seem to get the words out, he could hear the faint sound of her nervous breath but that was it "Jess? Is everything okay? Why did you call so late?" She was still frozen with fear, not sure what to say so she didn't say anything for a while "Jess? Are you there?"
