Penelope and Jess took a break to enjoy their pizza courtesy of Ethan and then hit the books again to find this man. "I remember seeing the name James Hughes in here" Jess scanned through the files at a rapid speed.
"You look exactly like your dad right now" Penelope stared in amazement.
Jess glanced up at her grinning from across the table" Thanks but even I don't read as fast as my dad. No one does" She put her head back down to the file searching for the name. Penelope then picked up a file and started looking too. The room was completely silent other than the sound of flicking pages.
"Can't I just search this guy? We have his name now" Penelope whined after about 45 minutes.
"No, because this guy is tracking our every virtual move and he doesn't do anything at random, this family is important to him so we can't tip him off on the investigation." Penelope slumped back in her chair sighing "Hey Pen if you don't want to do this you don't have to I don't mind. I know tech is usually more your thing."
"No no, I said I want to learn how you used to do things and I meant it" Jess smiled at her. "But I'm going to need more coffee. Do you want some?"
"Always" Penelope refilled their drinks and got straight back to work.

Hours later Jess had sent Penelope home to get some rest while Jess kept reading when she heard commotion and the faint sound of someone crying in the bullpen. She ran out to see Paige Sanders hysterically crying at a woman jessica didn't recognise but could only guess was social services she looked to Hotch's office where he stood in the doorway as he witnessed what was going on. They along with JJ, Emily and Spencer came out of the conference room to see all run over but Jess got their first. "What the hell is going on here? Who are you?"
As soon as Paige saw jessica she ran into her, hugging her waist and burying her face into Jessica's jumper while Jess tried to comfort her. "My name is Diane, I'm with social services." The lady held out her hand but Jess just looked down at it with disgust so she sheepishly drew it slowly "I must ensure These children need to be taken into protective custody."
"No" jessica looked blankly at her.
"Sorry ma'am, what do you mean no?"
"I mean no. Not happening. Do you need to hear it in another language? I fluent in seven." Jess scoffed while Paige still clung to her as tight as possible.
"Ma'am-"
"you can call me Agent Green" The team stood a few paces behind watching the scene unfold, standing by in case Jess needed backup.
"Agent Green I have a job to do""As do we And right now we are still working on finding their relatives"
"They have none" Diane was getting very visibly irritated by Jessica's persistence.
"We will be the judge of that thank you"
"Look agent this isn't your call to make"
Hotch swiftly stepped in to help out "You're right it's not, it mine and these children are possible eye-witnesses and could help us solve our case. So while I assure you. They are being taken care of, they will not be with you tonight" he and jess glared the social worker. Her eyes darted between the two agents before retreating out of the building.
Jess bent down to Paige's level, brushing the hair out of her face and drying her tears. "Are you alright?"
"Have you found my dad yet?"
Jess frowned a little and shook her head "Not yet but I'm trying my best"
"But you will right?" She didn't say anything, looking into Paige's glassy eyes, overcome with sadness. "Jessica please find him for me. I need to stay with Miles so I can look after him"
