Hotch, Morgan, Rossi, and Emily got up to go talk to Elliott, leaving Spencer JJ and Penelope to stay with Jess. "Did you find her? What took you so long?" Elliot stood up as all four of them walked in glaring at him.
"Yes. We are here to ensure you sign your divorce papers, Mr. Walker." Emily did her best to disguise her disgust and anger for the man standing in front of her, though it wasn't really working.
"No, let me talk to my wife. Where is she? I need to see her."
"That's not happening," Morgan said bluntly.
"What do you mean? Why not?" The man started to become frustrated with the team.
"Because she isn't comfortable with that, and quite frankly, neither are we." Emily was very firm with him, which he quickly picked up on and didn't like.
"She's my wife."
"Then how have you not known where she's been for nearly a year?" Hotch asked.
"Because she's unstable, she needs help! That's why I'm here."
"I really don't think she's the one who's 'unstable' in this situation." When Derek glared at him, his demeanour completely changed. The man was struggling to contain his rage at this point and needed to get out.
"Fine, then I'm leaving," he said, walking towards the door when Derek stood in his way.
"That's not happening either; you have papers to sign." The two men, face to face, stared each other down, seeing if the other had broken, but neither did.
"You can't hold me against my will. I'm looking for my wife; I haven't done anything wrong!"
"I'm not so sure about that."
Elliot went to say something but was stopped by Emily. "Excuse me for a moment." She left the room, followed by Rossi, and they went back to the conference room.
"How'd it go? Where is he?" Jessica asked hesitantly.
Emily sighed and looked at her pitifully. "Jess, he said he refuses to sign the papers, and until he gets to talk to you..."
"Not happening," Spencer stood up, enraged.
"I'll do it," Jessica said, also standing up.
"Are you sure, Jess? You don't have to," Emily assured her.
"Emily is right, you shouldn't," Spencer turned to Jess.
"Doesn't it look like I have much of a choice, do I? I'm not going to be alone though, right?" She looked around at everyone.
"Of course not; you can have whoever you want with you; you get to make the decisions now, not him," JJ said, doing her best to support her.
Jess prepared herself to see him and kept only Emily, Spencer, and JJ in the room. They got out a set of divorce papers ready to be signed by both of them, and Spencer paced the room behind Jessica. "Dad, please just don't say anything; try not to react, and please, as much as I'd love to see it, don't actually punch him."
"No promises"
"Dad, please," she gave him a look that begged him to listen to her.
"Fine," he said reluctantly. Then, before anyone else said anything, the door opened, and Morgan walked Elliott in and led him to a chair opposite Jessica, who was clearly terrified. Once again, avoiding the gaze of her husband.
"Addie, I'm so glad you're okay." She finally looked up to him with glassy eyes; she was completely tensed up, like she was ready for him to swing at her again.
