FRESHMEN YEAR- SEPTEMBER

~Alex's POV~
The bus catches me off guard when it jolts to a stop. I shove my sketchbook and pencil into my bag while everyone in the rows ahead of me rises from their seats and begins to file off the bus. Zipping my bag up and throwing the strap over my shoulder, I stand from my seat, step into the aisle, and steadily make my way off the bus. I skip down the steps and hop down onto the pavement.
I wrap my pink scarf around my neck, then let my hands fall to the pockets of my new blazer. My skirt stops a bit above my knees, and my legs are covered by my tights since the wind has been picking up these few days. My eyes scan the scenery as more students than yesterday head into the building.
My brother follows with a radiant grin, combing his fingers through his hair. His white, buttoned shirt is loose over the blazer tied around his waist. His pants are brown like his blazer, yet they're more comparable to cargo pants instead of the typical dress pants. His purple bracelets, high-top Vans concealed by his pants, red tie, and tousled hair contrast the typical palette of his uniform.
When Light spots me amongst the rush of students, he strides over, slinging a bag strap over his shoulder. Light hooks his finger on the loop of my bag, and I push through the crowd, jostling into others and muttering "Excuse me"s and "Sorry"s. We mount the school steps, push open the doors, and slide inside.
Nothing strange happens this time; no strange spinning or dizziness, and I don't feel like I'm about to pass out. I regard Light's gaze burning into the side of my head, so I turn to look at him. The skin on the bridge of his nose is wrinkled in confusion, his brow is furrowed as he shrugs, referring to the absence of dizziness. I can only return the action, inhaling the cool air circulating the entrance.
It doesn't take long to make it to our classroom since, after the foyer, the main and reserve course students break off from one another. Our halls weren't as hectic as it was downstairs along the path, and I thank the heavens for it. Light and I arrive at the dark wooden door leading to our classroom in no time, and I slide it open before peering inside. To my surprise, it's almost empty except for Levi, Zach, Jade, Jaxx, Drake, Candi, and Charli. We step into the classroom— Light pulls the door behind him— and head over to our seats.
I dropped my bag off my shoulders and placed it down onto my seat, and I was barely given enough time to settle down before I was quickly approached by the rockstar and Jade, who was dragged over by her arm.
A messily red tie hangs from Zach's unbuttoned collar, falling over his white shirt with his sleeves rolled up to the crook of his elbows. At the end of his tie is a black star, similar to the pink stars on his fingerless gloves with spiked wristlets. Silver, a chain, hangs from a belt loop on his dress pants, which stop behind his dark boots.
Jade, on the contrary, has a dark velvet green jacket covering her shirt and it drapes past her skirt. She tugs at the cuffs of the jacket, and her hair is up a half-up, half-down hairstyle, and now that her head's up, I can see that it falls far down her back. Finished with a green bow holding the ponytail!
"Alex, Alex" he calls when he's beside my desk. Zach slithers his arm away from Jade, then gestures to her, shaking his hands.
"What?" I take in both of their expressions. Jade's looking away, arms folded tightly across her chest and she slouches slightly. Her face isn't its usual porcelain tone, instead a rosy glow graces her face as she bites down on her bottom lip. Zach, however, is exhibiting a radiant smile stretching from ear to ear.
