Chapter 6-Typical Uriah

Tris POV

After the initiates left the training room, Tobias and I headed towards the dining hall. We linked hands and Tobias picked up my hand and kissed it. I blushed and smiled at Tobias. When we arrived at the dining hall, we waited in the line for our food. Tobias decided on three pieces of chocolate cake and I chose to get spaghetti and meatballs. We sat at our usual table with Christina, Will, Uriah, Marlene, Lynn, Shauna, and Zeke.

"Hey guys where have you been? I haven't seen you two in a while." Lynn asked while Marlene nodded in agreement.

"We have been doing pretty well; we're currently training the initiates." I answered.

"That's good, I wish I was an instructor but you can't do both." Lynn laughed.

"Yeah that's true, how are things going at the infirmary?" I asked, curious.

"Things are going pretty well considering that this is Dauntless. There aren't many accidents so far." Lynn answered.

"Or maybe you're doing other things." Uriah said while coughing.

"What?" Lynn asked while blushing.

"Oh nothing." Uriah answered with a smirk.

"Don't worry Lynn, its typical Uriah." Marlene said with a knowing grin.

Everyone at the table laughed. Uriah threw a dinner roll at Marlene, and Marlene threw it back at Uriah but she missed. Uriah laughed at Marlene and she rolled her eyes.

"Will you guys stop bickering? I don't want a food fight in the cafeteria." I said loudly while eating.

"Ew Tris! Can you please chew with your mouth closed? That's so gross; I don't know how you do it. Christina said with a disgusted look on her face. I rolled my eyes at her comment.

"Speaking of gross, where's Peter?" I joked.

"He's not as gross as he was before Tris; he's changed a lot since initiation." Lynn said.

"I know, but he will always be the Peter who tried to throw me over the chasm." I said harshly.

The table fell silent and everyone stared at their plate. It's so quiet at our table, that you can hear a pin drop. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Tobias stiffen, and he placed his arm around my shoulder.

"To answer your question, he's at work. I guess he had a lot of work to do today." Lynn said.

"Let me guess Uriah, did you give him all the work?" Will asked while he tried to control his laughter.

"Not really, well actually yes I did." Uriah answered proudly.

Lynn punched Uriah on his shoulder, and he lost his balance. Uriah groaned in pain and he fell to the floor in the cafeteria. We all laughed as Uriah struggled to get up and sit in his chair again.

"By the way, how is the control room going Will?" I asked randomly.

"It's really fun." Will answered sarcastically as he took a big bite out of his burger.

Tobias and Zeke laughed. I've only seen the control room twice, and it always seemed boring while I was there.

"How are things going with you two?" Christina asked Zeke and Shauna.

Shauna and Zeke shared a quick glance at each other. Shauna scooted closer to Zeke and they held each other's hands. Everyone around the table glanced at each other awkwardly. I raised my eyebrows at this, whatever they had to say must be important.

"Should I tell them the news or do you want to? Shauna asked Zeke excitedly.

"Go ahead, ladies first." Zeke answered slyly.

"Okay well first, we have two things to share." Shauna said in suspense.

Everyone braced themselves for the news, then finally-

"First, we're getting married!" Shauna exclaimed with an excited grin.

Lots of congratulations erupted from our table. Shauna held her hands up in front of her to stop us from talking

"Two, I'm pregnant." She continued.

Even more noises erupted from the table. A few members in the cafeteria turned their heads at the sudden loud noise.

"Who is going to be your best man and groomsmen?" Tobias asked Zeke.

"Well I was thinking that Uriah would be my best man; and then that leaves you and Will to be my groomsmen.." Zeke answered.

"Shauna, who is going to be the maid of honor and your bridesmaids?" Christina asked, probably already planning out her hair and makeup in her head.

"You, Lynn, Tris, Mar, and Lauren." Shauna answered.

"Oh my gosh, can I help you with the clothing?" Christina asked hopefully.

"Yes, I'm sure I'll be needing your help anyway." Shauna answered with a grin.

"When is the wedding?" Marlene asked curiously.

"In two weeks." Shauna answered, excited.

"When is the baby born?" I asked.

"Well Shauna just found out yesterday that she's pregnant, and we have an appointment set for tomorrow at the infirmary." Zeke answered.

"I hope it's a girl." Shauna said at the same time Zeke said-

"I hope it's a boy."

Shauna rolled her eyes at her fiancée. We continued eating for a few minutes and then Uriah broke it.

"I can't believe my brother is going to be a father." Uriah said with a smirk.

"I can't believe my sister is going to be a mother. Shauna you know that mom and dad will both freak out when they find out right?" Lynn asked.

"They will get over it." Shauna said dismissively.

"Lynn guess what?" Uriah asked.

"What?" Lynn answered cautiously.

"We're going to be uncles and aunts."

"Yay, this should be fun." Lynn said sarcastically.

Everyone at the table laughed. After a few minutes of talking, we all said our goodbyes and headed our separate ways.

Tobias and I walked to our apartment and I took my keys out of my pocket and I opened the door. As soon as we're inside the apartment, Tobias picked me up and carried me to our bed while giving me light kisses on my neck. He gently put me down and then he gave me kisses on my jaw. He made his way back up to my mouth and we only parted because we were both having a hard time breathing. We kissed for a few minutes until I rolled over on my side of the bed. Tobias turned off the lamp and he wrapped his arms around my stomach. I fell asleep to the sound of his heartbeat- that is until I heard a very high pitched scream.

I left this chapter off as a cliffhanger ha-ha lol.
