Chapter 13- Muffins

A/N: Hi initiates! So far, I've been getting reviews about Sarah/Bryce and Faith/Bryce and they seem pretty even.. We'll just have to wait and see what happens :] by the way, I'm skipping right to the fights.

Tris POV

I eyed the initiates as they walk in at 8:00 on the dot. I noticed that they're getting better on the timing thing which is good, assuming that most will be official Dauntless members soon. Tobias is finishing writing down the matches for today as Bryce walked in last. He has an angry look on his face as he walks over towards David and Ethan. Who both looked at each other with a knowing smirk.

"Today is the last day of fighting; two of you will be leaving soon after visiting day, so we suggest that you take today's fights seriously." Tobias declared, while stepping away from the board.

Ethan vs David

Nick vs Grace

Madelynn vs Emily

Bryce vs Faith

Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed Bryce froze when he saw who he's fighting.

"First fight, Ethan vs David." I yelled.

Once all of the first three fights are finished, with Ethan, Grace, and Emily being the winners; I peered at the fighting rink anxious for the last fight. I watched as Faith stepped into the ring, as Bryce slowly walked towards the ring, taking careful slow steps, probably stalling.

"Are you coming or what?" Faith asked, taunting.

Bryce ignored her and walked faster. Once Bryce was in the ring, Faith circled around him with a malicious smile on her lips, that didn't reach her red bloodshot eyes. After a few minutes she instantly kicked him from under his feet making him topple over. He got up and pushed her to the side. She lunged at him like a lion and clawed her fingers into his face. He quickly pushed her off and held her down. She winced out in pain and kicked him in the chest.

"Stop playing games, and actually fight me, Candor!" Faith exclaimed.

"What if I don't want to?" Bryce yelled back.

"I don't care if-" Faith started, but stopped.

Bryce pulled her closer towards him, so close that there was no air between them. Faith tried to pull away but Bryce's grip got tighter. He whispered something in her ear, and then Faith backs up and punched Bryce in the face. Faith fled out of the training room, her hair sticking up in places and her cheeks tomato red. Bryce quickly got up off of the rink and ran out of the door after her. I watched as Grace stepped away from Ethan to follow them, but he held her back. They silently argued to each other for a moment until Grace gave up and nodded.

"Okay then." Tobias suddenly commented with amusement while circling both names on the board.

There were a few seconds of awkward silence until I spoke up.

"Tomorrow is Visiting Day, after that will be the second stage of initiation-stage two." I started, lying about the stage two part.

"You're free to do whatever you want for today, just don't get kicked out." Tobias added with a laugh at the end.

"You're dismissed." I finished.

The initiates quickly walked out of the training room. Once the door closed, I immediately walked over to Tobias.

"What the hell was that?" Tobias asked once I reached him.

"I have no idea." I admitted, "Ever since Bryce kissed Sarah yesterday at truth or dare, she's been very bitchy lately." I stated, thinking slowly.

"That can only mean one thing." Tobias responded with a grin.

"What is this one thing you speak of Four?" I joking asked confused while making air quotes around one thing.

"They like each other." Tobias simply said with a shrug of his shoulder.

Then all of my gears started to click in place. How could I have not thought of that? The Erudite part in my brain clearly isn't working.

"That could be possibly it." I said with a smirk.

"I'm starving, let's go her something to eat." Tobias suddenly whined.

"Tobias Eaton, I never want to hear you whine again!" I exclaimed, turning my back from him and walking towards the dining hall.

"Beatrice Prior, can we please go to lunch, that muffin didn't help at all." Tobias spoke in an exaggerated deep voice.

"I can see that." I commented while taking Tobias's hand after he closed the door once we got out into the hallway.

Tobias chuckled, and we walked hand in hand to the dining room hall. We approached the dining hall, laughing and we waited in line for our food. We got our food, and we made our way to the table with our usual friends. As we got to the table, everyone erupted in laughter. I took my usual seat between Christina and Tobias.

"What's so funny?" I asked while pouring dressing over my salad.

"We were all talking about how we're all going to have babies soon." Marlene answered.

"Hah, maybe, maybe not." I quickly responded while looking at Tobias.

Tobias shook his head in agreement, which made everyone laugh even harder.

"So who are you thinking about cutting out?" I asked Christina and Lauren.

"Sarah and Jake." Christina answered while eating a piece of cake.

"Sarah because she's small and weak, she wouldn't make it through Dauntless in dailylife. I'm surprised she's a dauntless-born" Lauren admitted and howled.

"Jake because he hasn't won a single fight." Christina added.

"Also, I think they have a thing for each other. I saw them kissing in the halls on my way here." Christina stated with a smirk.

"What about you guys?" Lauren asked.

"Hmm-" I thought

"Emily and Madelynn." Tobias answered.

"They aren't cut out for Dauntless, they should've stayed back in Candor. Plus, they can be factionless friends together." Tobias said.

"You guys seem so easy to let them go." Uriah commented with a smirk.

"Somewhat." Lauren admitted with a laugh.

Everyone at the table laughed again. I love the feeling of laughing so hard your stomach hurts, and tears start to form in your eyes. I feel like I'm home. This is, and will always be my family.
