Tris POV

After lunch, the initiates returned to the training room to resume training. I noticed that Emily and Madelynn were giving Grace and Faith death glares as they walked in. I wondered what happened during lunch.

"Pick up a knife and start throwing." Tobias immediately started.

"Don't stop throwing until we tell you to." I also added.

The initiates walked over to get a knife and they started throwing. I noticed that Bryce, Ethan, and David are doing well as expected. Grace and Faith are doing okay, but they need a little practice. I walked over to them and tried to help them with their aim.

"Stand right here; now throw the knife in the center." I told Grace while pointing at the floor next to me.

Grace makes the target center by a few centimeters.

"Thanks Six." Grace said, genuinely happy.

"No problem." I replied with an encouraging smile.

I walked over to Faith and told her the same thing. She made the center and she smiled proudly at her sister. I saw that Emily and Madelynn aren't hitting the target at all which isn't surprising. I saw Madelynn miss the target and sat down. I speed walked towards her and I stared at her.

"What are you doing sitting down? This isn't PE where you get to sit down when you're tired, get up and go get the target." I deadpanned.

"Why? You're not the boss of me" Madelynn snapped.

I gave her a look that said 'who do you think you're talking to'.

"Because I said so, and I'm also your instructor. I suggest you listen to me because whether or not you make it past stage 1 is my decision." I retorted.

"No. Do you really want me to go in front of people throwing knifes just to go get mine?" Madelynn asked.

"Yes, unless you want Ethan to throw knives at you." I said, my eyes flickering over towards Ethan.

I saw everyone stop and turn to look at us. Ethan gave me a terrified look and Tobias gave me a look that said 'this isn't a good idea'.

"Fine, I'll let him throw knifes at me." Madelynn said confident, while Ethan's eyes widened.

"Okay then, stand in front of his target."

"Do I have to do this?" Ethan asked me exasperatedly.

"Yes." I answered while crossing my arms, challenging him to say no.

"But-"

"No buts, unless you want me to throw knives at you." I stopped him.

"Okay, never mind." Ethan said with terror on his face.

Madelynn slowly walked towards Ethan's target. I can see the terror across her face but she tries to hide it.

"Don't move until I say you're done." I said.

Ethan took his stance and looked at Madelyn. He took his knife, and threw it towards Madelynn. The knife landed close to her neck. I saw Madelyn's eyes widen and I bit back a laugh. Ethan continued throwing knifes, and after 5 minutes when Madelynn starts crying, I told him to stop.

"Okay Ethan, you can stop. Madelynn, go get your knife, NOW." I yelled.

Madelynn practically ran towards her target and I tried not to laugh. Tobias grinned at me; I guess my idea worked after all.

"Get back to throwing." I told the initiates.

The initiates continued throwing knifes, and after about 6 hours we dismissed the initiates for the day.

"It's 6:00, you can leave now." I said as I heard reliefs from the initiates.

"You're free to do whatever you want until 11. That's when your curfew is." Tobias said.

"Tomorrow we will be teaching you how to fight. One of the requirements to pass stage 1 is the ability to defend yourself in a fight." I said in my instructor voice.

"Who will we be fighting against?" Bryce asked.

"We can't tell you now, but you'll know soon." Tobias answered.

The initiates walked out of the training room, and Tobias and I cleaned up.

"Do you have any ideas on the fighting pairs? Because I sure as hell don't." Tobias said with a laugh.

"Hmm, well. I have to see after tomorrow because then I get to watch them practice for fighting." I said with a smirk.

"Yea, you're right." Tobias said

"So, what do you want to do now?" I asked with a wink.

"We can go to the bar?" Tobias asked.

"Sounds like a good idea." I answered.

We walked out of the training room and into the Pit. The Pit is crowded as always. We started to make our way to the bar. On our way to the bar, we walked past Tori's tattoo parlor and we saw Grace, Faith, David, Bryce, and Ethan looking at sketchbooks. We decided to stop by and mess with them.

"Shouldn't you all be in the dorms?" Tobias asked with his instructor voice.

I saw Faith turn around at the sound of Tobias's voice, and she dropped the book on the floor. I stifled a laugh.

"We're just joking; I was just like you last year." I said with a smile.

I saw relief flood over their faces.

"Where are the two little devils?" Tobias asked.

"We don't know. We decided to come here and we don't know where they went." David answered.

"I'm pretty sure they went shopping or to go get manicures and pedicures." Grace said with a smirk.

We all laughed imagining them going to the spa in the compound.

"Well we have somewhere to go. I suggest you go to bed soon so you won't be late tomorrow." Tobias said with a laugh.

We exited the tattoo parlor and headed towards to bar.

"Tobias, I'm tired can we just go home?"

"Sure, today was a long day and I'm tired too."

I smiled. We walked back to the apartment and as soon as we got in, I changed into my pajamas. I climbed into our bed and laid my head on his chest. Someday I would like to get married and have kids. But I'm only 17 so I have time to settle down. I listened to Tobias talk but after a few minutes I fell asleep.
