This chapter picks up right where the last chapter left off. I'm sure you all are wondering where that scream came from? ;]

Tobias POV

I wrapped my arms around Tris, and we started to fall asleep. I was just about to doze off into a peaceful slumber, but I heard a high pitched scream from outside. My eyes shot open, and I glanced at Tris; our eyes quickly met. I sighed in relief, glad that she's okay. We quickly jumped out of our bed and as we got up we quickly ran out the door, and into the hallway. We ran towards the Pit and when we arrived, there was a huge crowd in a circle looking down at something or should I say someone. Tris and I pushed our way through the crowd, and as we finally got to the front we saw a teenage boy with light blond hair-Ethan one of the initiates. He was laying in a pool of his own blood and he looked unconscious. I looked towards my left and I saw Tris hysterically crying. I also Grace and Faith crying- Grace crying the hardest between both of them. Bryce and David comforted them by hugging them and murmuring comfort words to them.

"Someone help, please!" Tris cried as she looked frantically around the crowd of people. I saw random people running off to go find help.

"What the hell happened?" I asked Bryce, angry.

"We don't know, we were all in the dorms sleeping, and then we heard a loud scream." Bryce answered.

I heard my name being called, and I turned around to see Christina, Will, Zeke, Shauna, Uriah, Marlene, Peter, Lynn, Eric, and Lauren all running towards us dressed in pajamas.

"What the hell happened to him?" Christina asked while looking at Ethan.

Bryce explained what happened again and they all nodded as they followed his story. A few minutes later doctors arrived, and they put Ethan on a bed and took him to the infirmary. We all waited for a few minutes until the crowd cleared out. I then noticed that Nick, Emily, and Madelynn weren't here.

"I think I know who did this." I stated.

"How could you possibly know?" Tris asked with tears in her eyes.

"Well look around and see who's not here." I answered will motioning to the crowd heading back to their homes.

"That's bull!" Tris yelled, finally realizing who I'm talking about while throwing her hands up in the air.

"Whoa wait a minute guys, we shouldn't jump to conclusions. Just because they aren't here that doesn't mean they did this." Peter said.

"He's right, maybe they're somewhere else and they didn't hear the scream" Lynn said.

"That's crazy and you guys know it! I heard the scream all the way in the shower." Faith said with a scowl on her face.

Everyone suddenly went silent. I looked out of the corner of my eye and I saw Nick in the corner peering at us.

"Hey, I think we should all go back home and check how Ethan's doing in the morning." I said.

"Are you sure?" Zeke asked

"Yea I'm sure." I answered ending the conversation.

Zeke shrugged and everyone started to walk away but Tris stops, looking back at me.

"Four are you coming?" Tris asked.

"Yea, I'll be there in a few minutes I have to fix something." I said.

"Are you sure, I kind of don't want to walk home alone." Tris admitted.

I motioned for her to follow me. We quietly walked towards the corner and we saw Nick standing there with a scared look on his face.

"Did you do it?" I asked getting right to the point with a frown on my face.

"I-I-"

I punched him in the face and I pinned him down on the ground. I know this isn't smart but I do it anyway.

"Why?! Why did you shoot him, well first, where the hell did you get the gun from?" Tris asked while motioning to the gun in his hand.

"I bought it. I did it because I didn't want to fail initiation." Nick admitted, frightened.

"Well guess what? Being on our bad side sure doesn't help." I said while letting Nick get up.

Nick took this time to run away. I laughed in pity while he tries to escape. I didn't even try to stop him; I don't have the energy to. Tris and I walked back to the apartment in silence.

"I hope he doesn't die." Tris said, mentioning Ethan as we got inside.

"Neither do I." I said while climbing in bed.

"Nick is disgusting. I know this sounds mean, but I hope he doesn't pass initiation." Tris said as she wrapped her arms around me.

"I hope he doesn't either." I admitted with a chuckle.

"I'm going to bed, goodnight Tobias." Tris said with a yawn.

"Goodnight Tris" I said.
