A/N: Hai guys, it's me again and I'm back with an update. I told you guys that I would upload Friday, Saturday, or Sunday; so I decided to go with Saturday hah. By the way, this chapter picks up from the next day after Visiting Day, in case you guys are confused. This chapter will also give you guys an insight on the dauntless-borns, and a little bit of their background. Also just to clarify things unless you guys didn't know, YES URIAH AND MARLENE ARE DATING. I wasn't sure if I made that sure or not but yes they're together ha-ha. Also I can proudly say that I'm officially done editing this story! :]
Macy POV
He dashed towards me, as he raised his fist. I walked backwards and my back hit the wall. I held my breath in fear as he gave me a malicious smile. I elevated my knee, and I hit him in his chubby stomach. He smelt like cheap beer and the smell nauseated me.
"You're nothing; you'll never be anything Macy. You're just like your mother; weak and pathetic." He thundered and I gulped.
He continued to hurdle insults at me but I tried to ignore them. I raised my fist and I repeatedly punched him in the face. He dogged my punches and he threw across the dark and gloomy apartment. He got a knife and he placed it on the side of my neck. My eyes widened and I tried to control my breathing. He dug the knife into my skin and I screamed.
I shot upwards in bed and I gasped and panted for air. I cracked open my eyes, and I saw darkness.
I looked up at the ceiling in relief, it was just a nightmare again I thought as I raked my hands through my hair and I quickly swallowed. I heard a movement from under me, and I looked down. I saw Jackson getting up out of his bunk, and climbing up the ladder. I immediately blushed as I realized I must have screamed aloud.
I looked down at the sheets as Jackson climbing into my bunk. He got closer, and he touched my chin, urging me to look up at him. I looked into his eyes and I saw sympathy and sadness. Jackson and Madi are the only ones who know about my recurring nightmares.
"Do you want to talk about it?" Jackson whispered, his voice soft and lovingly.
"No." I shut him up hastily.
Jackson breathed a sigh as he took my hand. He squeezed my hands reassuringly and rubbed circles with his thumb. My heart melted as his actions. Jackson is literally the best thing that happened to me. We all grew up together, and we used to be best friends, so he knows everything about me. We've been together for a little over a year and a half, and I've been happier ever since. Before initiation, I lived with Jackson, Jason, and their family. Since we grew up together, their parents didn't mind me living with them even though Jackson and I are together.
"Mace, you know that we're all here for you if you want to talk about it, especially me." Jackson started, using the nickname for me that I hate.
"It's the same thing over and over again. It's like a normal routine for me. I can barely sleep." I admitted.
"If it makes you any better, get nightmares too sometimes." Jackson shamelessly commented.
I breathed out a silent chuckle, and Jackson looked up at me and laughed. His eyes went back to its usual twinkle and my heart warmed. I loved the way his nose ring moved as his nose scrunched up as he laughed. It was adorable, but I would never admit it.
"Can you please sleep with me for tonight?" I asked hopefully.
"Of course, you didn't even have to ask. I was going to anyway regardless of your attempts to stop me." Jackson stated amused.
