Bryce POV
After riding on the train for about 10 minutes, Macy announced that it was time to get off. I grabbed Faith's hand and I walked towards the entrance to the train. Faith and I turned our heads towards each other at the same time, and we both jumped off the train. We landed on our feet, and I looked over at Faith and laughed. Faith giggled back, and we waited for everyone else on the train to jump off and we all started walking towards a large building.
"This is called the Hancock building." Jason stated while pointing up at the large building.
I held my hand above my eyes and I squinted up at the building. What the hell does this building have to do with us? I wondered.
"What does this building have to- Holy fuck, are we jumping off the building?" Grace exclaimed noisily. She started shaking her head in disbelief as I looked over to her, and her eyes almost fell out of her sockets, the color draining from her face.
"Something like that, but better." Madi replied while running towards the building.
"What could be better than jumping off a building Madison." David asked, using Madi's whole name while running after her.
Everyone followed after them towards the building, excitedly. When we arrived to the building, I saw a couple of older members about 3 years older than me, waiting outside the building, standing next to an old telephone post.
"What took you guys so long? I can't leave the elevator running all day." A boy with shaggy blond hair complained.
"Calm down Dave, we had to get the transfers." Jason said, shrugging his shoulders.
"Whatever, are you guys ready or what?" Dave asked impatiently. I had to stop an eye roll from coming at his attitude.
"Yea, we are." Mackenzie says with a smirk
.
"What exactly are we ready for?" Ethan asked while shifting on one foot to another.
Dave ignored his question and walked into the building. I followed everyone into a narrow hallway towards a large elevator. Dave pressed the button on the elevator multiple times impatiently, and then the door eventually opened. We all boarded into the elevator one by one. Honestly, I'm surprised that all of us can fit into the elevator. Dave pushed a few buttons and the elevator door closed. The elevator shot up in motion. The elevator is going so fast that my knees started to feel weak. I tried to hold on to the railing, trying to contain my balance, and I heard someone snicker and I briskly turned my head around to see Jake laughing at me. He has some fucking nerve I thought.
"What's so funny Jake?" I asked annoyed, and I gave him a pointed look.
"You think this part is hard, wait till you see what's coming next." Jake yelled over the drumming sound of the elevator.
Before I had a chance to reply a snarky comeback, the elevator doors bursted open and I felt a gush of wind. I looked out to see a ladder and a door opened above it.
"We're going on the roof?!" Faith exclaimed.
Don't get me wrong, I love Faith; but sometimes she can be so dense.
I squeezed her hand regardless, to reassure her that nothing bad is going to happen to her with me by her side. Macy walked out of the elevator, and started climbing up the ladder and quickly everyone followed her. Once we're on the roof, I saw another Dauntless member standing next to a sling. We all walked over towards him and lined up. Macy stepped forward and the random guy put her in the sling. The guy secured her in the sling and brought her towards the edge of the roof. Faith gasped aloud, as Macy turned around and stuck her tongue out at us. Before the guy let go of her sling, she winked, and the guy let go. She plummets towards the ground, and I heard a high-pitched scream as I watched Macy fall out into the sky. She soon disappears after a few seconds and then I heard cheers below.
"Oh my freaking god." Grace exclaimed.
"You don't have to do this if you don't want to babe." Ethan told her as I watched the next person get in the sling.
Soon there's only six of us left; Faith, Grace, Ethan, David, and I, Madi being the last person to go before us. After a few minutes there are three of us left.
"Bryce, I don't want to go." Fatih turned around and admitted to me.
"You don't have to if you don't want to." I replied giving her a reassuring smile.
"Yeah sis, you're not required to go." Grace added with a grin.
"Look who's still here." Faith retorted, stalling time.
"Go ahead, you're next in line." Grace said.
Faith stepped forward towards the man. She placed herself in her sling and the man secured her tightly. Faith then turned towards me and we locked eyes. I nodded at her encouraging, and she smiled at me as she slowly tipped herself off the edge of the building. I think I could've heard her screams from miles and miles away. After a few seconds I heard clapping, and I sighed out of relief and happiness.
"You're next Bryce." Grace spoke.
I stepped towards the man and put myself in the sling. The man secured me and I tipped myself over the building. I felt the wind against my eyes making me keep them open. The ground gets closer and closer as I fall in the air. Soon enough I kicked my feet up so I can land properly. The ground gets closer by the second. I quickly grabbed the break and it slows down. I planted my feet firmly on the ground and I noticed everyone cheering for me. Faith ran over to hug me and kissed cheerfully me on the lips. I heard a few whistles until I turn around and watched Grace fall.
Grace POV
I walked towards the man and put the sling around me. The man secured me in the sling and I stepped towards the roof and I looked down. I can't make out any faces because everyone looks like tiny ants. I could only make out two people kissing and I wouldn't doubt for a second that it's Faith and Bryce. I tipped myself off the roof and fell towards the ground. The wind keeps my eyes open and I let my arms fall to the side. I got closer and closer to the ground when my sling started to slip, when I turned to grab the brake. I gasped in terror as I kept falling to the ground and my sling slips more. Soon my sling fells off and I plummeted towards the ground. My whole body hit the ground hard as I laid face front on the concrete. The last words I make out before my vision went black are from Ethan.
"GRACE, NO!" Ethan yelled deadly.
A/N: Ooohh.. Let's see what will happen. Idk why but my A/N are always short.. Sometimes I just don't know what to say lol. Review, Follow, and Fave!
