They stepped out of the car.

Taniya helped Baba Jaan step down.

They met Daneen on the way to Rubab's room.

Shoaib greeted her.

"Assalamualaikum, Phupho," he said with a heavy heart.

He still couldn't forget what she did to Dishaan and Anam to hurt Abraham, but she was still his so-called father's sister, so he couldn't ignore her directly.

She replied and wanted to initiate the conversation, but he walked past her.

Taniya greeted her too and felt uncomfortable with his tone when he greeted Daneen.

"Who talks to their Phupho that way?" she thought.

She replied sweetly and greeted Baba Jaan.

While introducing each other, they reached Rubab's room.

Assalamualaikum," Taniya greeted.

"Walaikum assalam," Sunidhi replied in her throaty tone.

"Assalamualaikum," Sunidhi greeted Baba Jaan.

"Walaikum assalam... Kaisi hai hamari Bahu ?" he asked, turning everyone's attention towards Rubab.

But Shoaib hated that word for his sister; she was not a 'bahu' to them.

Seeing Rubab's condition, tears welled up in Taniya's eyes.

"Bhabhi..." she whispered, controlling her tears.

Taniya addressing his baby sister as "Bhabhi" boiled his blood. Didn't she know her bastard brother is 15 miserable years older than her? They didn’t even confirm if he married her for real or if he, too, faked everything just to satisfy his lust for his sister.

This thought irked his nerves. He couldn't even stand seeing his sister near that old bastard, even after their claims of marriage. The idea of him touching his sister that way without marriage was beyond his tolerance.

"You also faked a marriage with his sister and ruined her innocence, wait you actually committed 'zinA' with her" his heart mocked, taking her side as always.

"You are also ten years older than her," his mind mocked this time.

He closed his eyes to calm the battle between his heart and mind.

She walked to Rubab's sitting frame and caged her body in a hug, pressing her head against her tummy.

Rubab had become too weak to even reciprocate the hug.

"Bhabhi... what have you done to yourself?" she asked, still holding her tightly.

But hearing the concern in her voice for his sister made him feel good.

That brotherly instinct made his eyes well up, seeing his little sister's condition.

Baba Jaan walked towards her with slow, limping steps. Taniya released her from the hug, and Baba Jaan put his hands on Rubab's head, saying lovingly,

"May Allah grant you health. It does not suit our family's 'bahu' to have such a weak heart," he said with fatherly love.

She smiled faintly upon hearing the word "Bahu."

Seeing her shynss ,happiness at the word "Bahu" irritated Shoaib beyond anything.

She roamed her eyes around the room, searching for any glimpse of her beloved shauhar, but not finding him, she asked, making him even more frustrated.
