Authors pov
The air smelled like smoke and roses.
The kind of day where the sun dares to shine, unaware it’s an hour of mourning.
They laid Shoaib’s body in white.
His wounds wrapped.
His lips still curved faintly in the smile he died wearing — the one meant for her.
He looked peaceful.
But peace came too late.
They said she shouldn’t go.
Said she was too weak.
Too pregnant. Too fragile.
But she laughed.
A hollow, distant sound.
“Do they think she wasn't’t there when he died?”
She walked barefoot to his grave.
Every step like glass under skin.
Her belly was heavy.
But her heart was heavier.
They had placed white flowers on him.
But all she saw was blood.
Still fresh in her dreams.
Still wet on her hands.
She knelt beside him.
Placed her palm on his chest, over the shroud.
His heart had beat for me… and then stopped for me.
“Shoaib,” I whispered.
“You idiot. You stupid, selfish… beautiful idiot…”
Tears blurred everything.
Her fingers trembled as she traced his name on the headstone.
Her voice cracked like porcelain—
“shoaib?”

DANISH’S POV
I wanted to carry her away.
She was too pale. Too thin. Her lips trembling. Her eyes… those weren’t Taniya’s eyes.
But how could I touch her now?
When every inch of her was clinging to the last warmth left in the world?
I saw her place something near his grave.
that broken red car of dawood.
I saw her mouth move.
Whispering something no one else could hear.
And then—
She fainted.

TAHA’S POV
I caught her just before she hit the stone.
Her body limp.
Unconscious.
But her hands still clenched into fists — like she was trying to hold onto him.
“Call the doctor!” I shouted.
“She’s bleeding—!”
There was blood.
Fresh and dark, trailing down her leg.
