Shoaib's pov

The door was wide open.

No guards.

No cameras.

No Taniya.

And no Dawood.

The world tilted.

“WHERE IS SHE?!” I roared, grabbing one of the guards by the collar.

He shook in my grip. “S-sir, she—she just walked out. With a man. She didn’t resist. Like she knew him.”

Blood drained from my face.

I staggered backward.

The sun was sinking.

Orange light spilled across the courtyard, too soft for what it carried.

My phone was buzzing non-stop.

Voices echoing down the hallway.

Something about the back gate.

Something about the footage.

Something about Taniya.

But none of it registered—

Until I saw Danish run past me.

Barefoot.

Wild.

"DAWOOD!" he screamed.

My heart dropped.

Not just dropped—shattered.

I turned, grabbing a guard by the collar. Again' “Where is my wife?”

He stuttered. “She—she was with Dawood an hour ago and then——”

I shoved him aside and ran.

Through the courtyard.
To the guard post.
To her room.
To Dawood’s toy shelf—emptied.

Gone.

Both of them.

Gone.

No. No, this couldn’t be real.

I ran to the living room.

Gone.

Shoes missing.

Room empty.

My heart was no longer beating—it was breaking.

Dawood’s coloring book lay half-finished on the floor.

I sank to my knees.

“Taniya… what have they done to you?”

The sun had set.

But the darkness that fell on this house was not natural.

It was loud. Silent. Suffocating.

She was gone.

So was Dawood.

But not together.

Not the way it should’ve been.

My hands were bleeding—I don’t even remember from what. My voice, hoarse from screaming. My legs, shaking from searching every square inch of this goddamn villa.

Shahjahan Maa stood in the foyer, tasbeeh slipping through her shaking fingers, her lips whispering duas like fire.

“Taniya,” she said, barely audible. “Something happened.”

Rubab came rushing, holding Neymat in one arm, phone in the other. “CCTV’s down since 4:12 pm. Back gate was unlocked. No sign of struggle.”

I turned to her, voice hoarse, “Where the hell is she, Rubab?”
