Shoaib's pov
I stood outside the villa. The one Abraham Mamu gifted them.
Izmir was warm.
But the fire inside me could’ve scorched the Aegean.
The moment I saw their villa—Taha's palace of borrowed pride, gifted by Abraham Mamu—I wanted to set it ablaze. Not with fire, but with truth. With the screams they kept buried behind their stone walls and perfect smiles.
I stood outside for a second longer, fixing my jaw, smoothing my shirt, schooling my rage into quiet elegance.
Because I couldn’t explode—not yet.
I clenched my fists.
I didn’t ring the bell. Just stepped in.
The warmth inside made my skin crawl.
The smell of baby powder. The distant lull of Rubab’s humming.
This house felt like a home—and I hated it.
Because I knew my Taniya was here. Laughing with them. Healing with them.
Not with me.
My blood boil hearing my own sisters word for me , she is talking about divorcing Taniya?
Goddamn, how could she?
And her pathetic brother? He wants her to tell him directly?
What a joke, my Taniya is mine.
It's late night when I reach there,
And without wasting my time i went to taniya's room,
Yeap my niece told me about her room and she is the One who told me the passcode.
Taniya was asleep.
Curled like a child in the corner of the bed, her fists near her chest, her breath shaky even in slumber. There was a faint crease between her brows, as if her dreams weren’t kind either.
I shut the door behind me.
Locked it.
And I stood there, watching the girl who ran from me.
My wife. My woman. My sinner. My salvation.
I don’t know how long I stood like that—just watching her chest rise and fall. Remembering the way it once pressed against mine in sobs. Or moans.
I moved slowly, sat beside her. My hand found her ankle, traced up her calf. She stirred—eyes fluttered.
When she saw me, she gasped, tried to sit up, but I pressed my hand on her waist.
"Don’t run again," I whispered. "Please."
She froze.
Her eyes brimmed, lips parted. “Shoaib…”
"I came," I said, voice low, shaking. “I came here for you.”
“You shouldn’t have—”
I grabbed her chin gently. “You left me. Without a word. Like I didn’t matter. Like our daughter didn’t matter.”
Her eyes flooded.
I leaned closer, my forehead against hers. “Why, Taniya? Why did you leave me to drown in her blood alone?”
“I was drowning too,” she whispered, broken.
“I would’ve died with you,” I said, voice trembling. “But you left me behind in that hell, alone. You ran into the arms of the same man who destroyed you.”
“No,” she whispered fiercely. “I ran into the arms of my brother.”
Tears slipped silently down her cheeks. But she didn’t flinch.
