Shoaib's POV

Thank God she believed my lie, and that doctor didn't talk to her as I took her home directly.

I know this won't stay hidden for long-she'll find out. But I want her to know so late that she has no choice but to give birth to my child.

I don't care if it's haram or halal. Only I know that the child growing inside her is haram, and I will happily bear this burden because I know how much pain Danish Bhai suffered.

Danial is in critical condition. Although Daud, my nephew, is not in good condition either, I don't know why Dani's condition isn't improving.

Only I know how head over heels Danish Bhai is for Danial. I'm worried about him.

Anam told me that Bhai is not eating or drinking properly. All day, he just sits beside her bed, holding her hand.

He hasn't even spared a glance at Daud-he's blaming him for Dani's condition.

Dishaan Bhai and Anam are taking care of Daud. I just want to flee and meet them as soon as possible, but Taniya's condition doesn't allow me to take that risk.

I don't know why, but a strange mix of emotions creeps into me whenever I see her.

She looks pale. Her condition is improving, but the doctor said it's not advisable to travel such a long distance during the first trimester since the fetus is just like a raw ball of blood at this stage.

I personally take care of her appetite and give her medicine. I know I'm lying to her-she'll eventually find out, as it's her body-but if this lie is good for my baby, then I will lie happily.

But why am I even lying? She doesn't know about this dark side of my revenge. She'll be happy knowing about her pregnancy.

Yet, I don't know why I fear she might hate my child.

I stood up as I saw my client walking toward me with a heavily pregnant lady. I guessed she was his girlfriend because marriage culture is foreign here.

For a few seconds, I imagined Taniya-her heavily pregnant belly, fuller breasts, healthy weight gain, difficulty walking-every beautiful change a woman goes through during this precious period.

I remember how Danish Bhai used to massage Danial's feet when they got swollen.

"Hello, Mr. Malik." I snapped out of my thoughts when I heard his voice.

"Hello, Mr. Robinson," I greeted him, shaking hands.

"Please, take a seat," I gestured.

He helped the woman sit comfortably and then took his seat.

I also sat opposite them.

We talked about work, and in this 50-minute dinner, I convinced him really well by elaborating on the pros and cons of investing in our company.

While eating, my mind drifted to her-shit, she must be hungry, and her nausea isn't letting her eat properly.

So I just drank a mocktail because I wanted to eat with her while staring at her moon-like face, full of innocence and purity.

Somewhere deep in my heart, I felt guilty for taking her without nikah-or, should I say, betraying her in the name of nikah. But the other part of me was a happy bastard.

That other part thought I owned her, that she always belonged to me, and she always would. Now, our child would act as a thread of love between us.

"Why aren't you eating anything?" Mr. Robinson asked, pulling me out of my thoughts.

"My wife is waiting for me," I said, smiling.

"You have a wife?" he asked.

I nodded.

"Man, why didn't you bring her here? That would have been much better," he said, looking at his girlfriend-or wife, I don't know.

"She's a little sick," I said, controlling my tone, as I hated discussing my wife with other men.

After some small talk and formalities, I bid him goodbye and reached home around 10.

As I entered my room, I saw her sitting on the couch, my laptop open, her medicine lying on the table.

I immediately sensed the situation.

Feeling my presence, she tilted her head to look at me, and my heart ached seeing her eyes-why was she crying?

Was she emotional? Were they happy tears?

Avoiding these questions, I walked straight to the kitchen to grab dinner for both of us.

She must be feeling overwhelmed knowing about her pregnancy.

Yes, I was sure she had found out because she hadn't taken her medicine, but the bottle of pills in her hand indicated she had done some research using my laptop.

Taking a full plate of food with fruits and more, I walked back to my room.

She was still sitting in the same position.

Shaking off my thoughts, I sat beside her and, glancing at the laptop screen, confirmed my suspicion.

I placed the plate on the table and shut the laptop.

She looked at me, her eyes full of tears. Although I hated seeing her cry, it pained my heart to see those tears.

I took a morsel of food and held it up to her mouth.

She looked at me, then at the morsel.

"Eat this, biwi. You have to take your medicine too," I said, pushing the morsel into her mouth.

She chewed while looking at me-I knew what she was feeling.

I took another morsel and offered it to her.

She looked at me, then at the food.

Gulping slightly, she opened her mouth to say something, but I pushed the morsel in.

She chewed, then reached for a glass of water, but I was faster. I took it and helped her drink.

She drank the whole glass.

I took the glass back and was about to place it on the table when her words halted my movement.

"mujhe khula chahiye, Shoaib."
