Taniya's pov

After Bhai and Bhabhi left, I was about to go to my room when Anam Khala and Shahjahan Maa came.

I gave them a soft smile.

"Khala," I said, walking toward her.

“Khala ki jaan, humein tumse baat karni hai,” she said, taking me to the couch.

I nodded. We all sat down, waiting for her to begin.

“Mera bachcha, I won’t ask you why you didn’t think we were worthy enough to share your pain,” Khala said, looking at me, then at Shahjahan Maa.

“Khala…” I began, but Shahjahan Maa interrupted gently.

“We’ve given you enough time, beta. Now we want to talk to you,” she said, holding my hand.

I nodded, swallowing the lump in my throat.

“You know, bachcha, there was a time in my life too,” Khala began, holding back her tears.

I looked at her, confused.

“Dişhaan did that thing to me when I was pregnant with the twins. When your Mamoo found out, he beat him half to death. But I saved him. Because I was already in love with him. I was just a teenager—head over heels for my husband, the father of my child.”

She wiped her tears and continued.

But her revelation was hurting me.

How could a woman like her—so powerful, so composed—have suffered?

That too while being pregnant?

“But I loved Dişhaan, so I forgave him,” she said. “But that doesn’t mean I want you to do the same. You’re not a teenager, Tani. And you’re not in love with him... so—”

Khala wiped her tears again, but this time, I couldn’t control mine.

She knows... I don’t love him?

“Choose wisely, bachcha,” she said softly. “You and Rubab are very precious to us. You deserve happiness too, jaan.”

Shahjahan Maa reached out and gently wiped my tears.

“Do you love him, Tani?” Khala asked.

I swallowed hard.

Then shook my head.

“No…” I whispered, letting my tears fall.

Khala kissed my temple gently.

“Then divorce him. You don’t have to live with your tormentor, Tani.”

I looked at her in disbelief.

She was advising me to divorce Shoaib?

In front of Shahjahan Maa?

I turned to look at Maa.

She nodded.

“But things will get more complicated, Khala. Look—because of me, Bhai and Bhabhi’s happy life turned upside down,” I said, staring at my lap, nervously twisting my fingers.

“Nothing is complicated, jaan. And Taha and Rubab will be okay. They’re in love. This is just temporary heartbreak,” Maa said gently.

More tears spilled from my eyes.

Love?

Don’t I deserve love too?

“Will you snatch Dawood from me?” I asked, struggling to hold myself together. “I don’t want to lose my child. Dawood needs me.”
