A/N: I am sorry if this story isn't as good as my other ones. I did rush writing this one because I have been super busy with school. I do apologise for me posting pretty slack. But I am nearly at the end of exams so I will hopefully post more. Anyways I hope you still enjoy. Love you all.

Chapter 1: The Argument

Genny and Lucy's friendship was a cornerstone of their lives. They had been best friends since childhood, and their bond had only grown stronger as they transitioned into adulthood. Lucy was now a dedicated police officer, known for her unwavering commitment to justice. Tim, a childhood friend, had always harbored a quiet affection for Lucy. Working as an analyst for a private security firm, Tim often found himself in the orbit of Lucy's world.

One crisp autumn afternoon, the three of them met at their favorite coffee shop. The conversation started off light, but a recent pattern of Lucy canceling plans began to bubble up. Tim, feeling increasingly sidelined, finally voiced his frustration.

"Lucy, it feels like you're always busy with work. We hardly see you anymore," Tim said, trying to keep his voice steady.

Lucy, already stressed from a particularly grueling week, snapped back, "I'm doing my best. You don't know what it's like to deal with the pressure I'm under."

Genny, sensing the rising tension, attempted to mediate. "Come on, guys, let's not let this get out of hand."

But Tim's frustration came to a head. "I'm tired of pretending everything is okay. The truth is, Lucy, I've been in love with you for years. More than just friends."

Lucy froze, her coffee cup halfway to her lips. The shock on her face was evident. "Tim... I didn't know. I never expected this."

The argument fizzled out, replaced by an uncomfortable silence. The weight of Tim's confession hung heavily in the air, and neither of them knew how to move forward.

Chapter 2: The Confession

The next day, Lucy and Tim met at a nearby park to talk things through. The crisp fall air seemed to match the gravity of their conversation. Lucy fidgeted with her jacket, trying to find the right words.

"Tim, I had no idea you felt this way," Lucy began, her voice soft but firm. "I've been so focused on my work that I didn't see it. But I need to be honest with you. I've always valued our friendship deeply, and I'm not sure how to process this."

Tim looked down, his heart heavy. "I didn't want to make things awkward. I just couldn't keep my feelings to myself anymore. I know this complicates things, and I'm sorry."

Lucy took a deep breath. "Maybe... maybe we should take some time to think about this. I don't want to lose you as a friend, but I also don't want to ignore how I feel."

They agreed to give each other space, unsure of what the future held. Both needed time to reflect on their feelings and the impact on their relationship.

Chapter 3: Genny's Role

Genny, caught in the middle, was worried about both her best friend and Tim. She knew how much they meant to each other and felt a responsibility to support them both.

She reached out to Lucy first, inviting her over for a cozy evening at her apartment. Surrounded by the warmth of flickering candles and the aroma of homemade cookies, Genny broached the subject with care.

"Lucy, I know things have been tough," Genny said gently. "But you need to figure out what you really want. Tim's feelings are real, and so are yours. Don't let this ruin the friendship you both cherish."

Lucy nodded, her eyes reflecting the flickering candlelight. "I know. I need to be honest with myself and with Tim."

Later, Genny spoke with Tim, offering him a similar piece of advice. "Tim, you need to be patient. Lucy needs time to process her feelings. In the meantime, show her the respect she deserves."
